AOS pairings and couples

As suggested by Doubar (who as always is sooo right, considering how we were spamming on Turok's tread : I open a new topic dedicatet to AOS couples.

How many canon couples there are in AOS? How are they going to develop on our rpg?

I would think:
Rumina with Dermott (or Rumina with Sinbad) – based on my ff.net story
Sinbad with Maeve
Bryn with Doubar
Firouz with Kriss (or Serendib) – from RPG, but Serendib might be interesting

Not exactly. Some boys often are shy, so it may seem weird to the girl, but it is perfectly normal from the guys perspective.

Hehe, he wasn't simply shy but totally ... well ... yeah, shy and sweet. But that's something that 1: I for one would find kinda unfitting for the rpg and 2: seems strange considering that the two have already known each other for a year and thus would find love where once there had been friendship. Doubar had a crush on Eleana - most likely because of her looks. This obviously isn't the same with Bryn - meaning he has to act different anyways.

And about Doubar, well Bryn is coming after him, so do you want it to be cat and mouse? ;D

It would be fun in the tavern but not in the rpg me thinks. As for the rpg: I would imagine that Bryn slowly but constantly notices her affection for Doubar grow. She can indicate that maybe and thus make Doubar think about it. The breakthrough could be the typical situation in which one of them is in danger and the other starts to realize just how much the one means to them. *shrugs*

Make-believe I am your boyfriend and do what you would do to him to me. The only problem is that you are not a male.

And those exactly are the problems here.

And about the pairings: Like we already figured out in the show it has only been Meave/Sinbad and Caipra/DimDim. Furthermore it was implied that Velda and Firouz would have something going on. But I would like the Firouz/Serendib coupling just as much. After all they already seemed to like each other very much back then.
Anyways. Kriss and Firouz would be just as fine although I somehow doubt that the rpg-Kriss would fit so nicely to the inventor.
And, well, still do not really like the Dermott/Rumina-idea but like with all other couples the players themselves will have to decide anyways. *still cannot believe she said yes to that Doubar/Bryn-thing *

Hm.. I like the discussion guys, however I´d prefer us to not actively "plan" couples. I´ve made the experience that characters find their pairings naturally, they develop their own heads if you will and things develop along as the rp develops. Planning things out and pairing up would take away a lot of the fun. :-)

Other canon couples are Casib/Adena, and Turan/Jaelle.

Sinbad/Leah was canon in the past, as long as Sinbad/Talya (did they had some kid of flirt?)

I think too that for the couple Serendib/Firouz it's up to the players.

As for the Rumina/Dermott pairing I don't dislike it, but with different premises. This pairing would be a bit strange into the rpg, their age difference is too big, and they have nothing in common. Their only connection is the spell...but we have already set their past background for what happened in Erin, without any romantic involvement between the two.

Well. let's see in the future. The Story it's just started

I always interpreted it like that, yep. As I see it, there was definitely something going on between them at some point. *takes notes to coordinate that with Talya´s player so they can agree on a common background* I think it´s quite possible they had some sort of fling or affair. Most likely with her in the lead and him still quite young.
