At this Doubar grinned broadly, knowing already that his sorceress-friend would love what he was going to retort on that. "Aww, do you really think I'm that simple-minded?", he teased her, faking a hurt voice while he spoke. For only a moment then the first mate let his words linger between the two of them before adding with the broadest smile: "There has to be good wine as well!"

Sinbad chuckled at that, pleased that there was such an easy, light mood between them right now. It made him look forward to a few days on land all the more.
The Nomad was almost in and he gave a quick move with his hand towards the sailor at the tiller so the man would take the ship just a bit more starboard to avoid the last sandbank. Things were going smoothly. Another reason to be please. Another was, of course, to be back at a place that was as familiar as Basra. He pushed away the slight thought of awkwardness that came with this arrival and that he could not completely sort in. It wasn´t exactly like in the old days, as much as he would have wished it to be.
"And that´s all it needs." he said with a smirk, half his attetion on navigating. "There will be no trading businesses or other activities that can be called ´work´until at least tomorrow morning. And that´s an order." That excluded being on the lookout for possible dangers of course.

Bryn was a little taken aback. "An order? An order not to do work?" Bryn chuckled, "Well, you definitively are in a happy mood."

She was probably right, Sinbad briefly thought, but he didn´t contemplate on the fact that the somewhat joking mood he was in right now (even though some of it was just another strategy to not fall into the darkness he was just emerging from again), was still something to get used to. "Captain´s order, yes." he said, nodding gravely as if he was dead serious on it before he losened one of the ropes on the railing and tossed the lose end over to one of the youngsters that were waiting to help on land. He gave the boy, a lad of maybe 13 or 14, an encouraging smile and the young one enthusiastically grabbed for the rope to sling it through one of the solid chain rings in the ground. "Make sure it´s tight." he called over, watching what the kid was doing. "You know how to tie a good knot?" The boy hesitated a moment, then gave a hasty nod.

Bryn smiled and patted the captain on the back, watching as the Nomad made it into port. One of the crew threw the rope over the side and dropped ankor. Another had started to lay down the bridge connecting the Nomad to the dock. "I think I will go wake up Rongar now."

Doubar nodded at the girl. "You do that, Bryn. He will appreciate hearing that we finally arrived." Then he concentrated on the young boy again who was tending to the rope Sinbad had thrown over to the dock for him to fasten it. "He's doing well*, Doubar observed after watching the boy for a moment. The knot looked good and the first mate had no doubt that it would hold the Nomad safely in the port. "He'll make a good sailor one day, eh?" With this he nudged his little brother, smiling broadly while he went to turn to him. There was no way that Sinbad could mistake this mischievous grin the older man sent his way and Doubar in turn was glad that after these weird last days on sea they finally seemed to have skipped into lighter mood again. Land really could do miracles to a crew, the older man thought and leaned back on the realing a little. His gaze was losely directed to the main mast where Ahmed was still tending to some ropes as it seemed. The boy had his eyebrows furrowed and a frown was lying on his face. Obviously whatever he had intended to do wasn't going all too well. With a slight chuckle Doubar straightened his back a little and raised his voice. "Ahmed. Do you need help with that thing?", he called the boy who instantly jumped at his words. An uncertain shrug passed his shoulders and it was plain to see for everyone that he in deed needed help but was too shy to ask for it - probably fearing that the captain and his older brother would regard this as incompetency. Doubar had never known this feeling. When being a young sailor he had always asked for support when he was told to handle things he had only little experience in. But over the years he had gotten to know enough of those young lads to know when to help them although not being asked to. He sent a smile towards Bryn and Sinbad, knowing they understood as well. "I think I'm gonna pay him a visit", the first mate stated calmy, patting his friends' shoulders at the same time. Then he set imself into motion and walked over to where Ahmed stood.

Bryn nodded and smiled at Doubar before leaving to go below and wake up Rongar. When she got to his cabin she took a deep breathe and gently knocked on his door.

The boy on the pier managed to tie an knot that seemed strong enough, at least it would last till Sinbad or one of the others would have hopped on land to make it more secure.
The captain nodded at Bryn´s words and nodded towards his older brother when the other man trod off to see to the young lad. "Good." he said, tossing another glance at the pier. There were enough helping hands around, but he still wouldn´t leave the ship unattended. Especially not that there had been the warning earlier. "Doubar." he shouted over. "Take some men and pay some of the youngsters to see to the cargo. I´ll take Rongar along to have a first look at the city and see if everything´s okay."That, and find them a stay for the night. He was sure that there would be some rooms to let in the one or other tavern.

Rongar raised his head in a sleepy daze.
He thought he heard a knock on his door, but when it didn't occur again, he collapsed face down and knew nothing more.

After not hearing anything, Bryn took another deep breathe. She didn't want to be rude. "Rongar, are you okay," she called knocking on the door a little louder.

He groaned as something else barged in on his sleep. He thought he heard someone talking through the door, but his head was still to fogged up to make heads or tails out of it all.
He knew he should get up, they were probably in Basra by now, but he was simply to tired. This type of tiredness had happened once or twice before, so he knew it'd pass once he got enough sleep, but he did need to start helping the others.
As he pushed himself up from his face plant into his pillow, he groaned. The temptation was to much.
Besides, if it was important, someone would wake him up.

Bryn waited a little after hearing no reply. She pressed her lips together. This was going to be harder than she thought. She raised her hand to knock again but stopped before it touched the door. She thought for a second, looked down at the floor, and wrinkled her forehead. But as she did, her eyes crossed over the doorknob. She frowned as she started at the doorknob. It was bad manners to enter someone’s room without asking for permission to enter. But she did knock, so Rongar knew that someone was there.
She looked at the door again, then down at the doorknob, and put her hand on it. She slowly turned the knob and was half-surprised that it was open. She gently opened the door and poked her head through. “Rongar, we have made port.”

Bryn was a little surprised by his response. Rongar is usually well-mannered. Grunting was not one of his traits. Of course, she half-expected it. He was probably very tired. But nevertheless she shrugged that thought aside. Sinbad would probably be waiting for Rongar. She took another deep breath. “Rongar, come on, wake up! We docked at Basra, and Sinbad probably needs you to help him with things.”

Rongar huffed and lifted his head.
He heard her words, but they were muffled in his head.
He was still to tired to understand them.
He frowned, picked up his pillow, and threw it in the direction of the voice. He didn't know who it was, but it sounded non-male, so that ment Bryn. He was being childish, but he was tired by Allah!
He glared at her, tilted his head, and waved his hand in a motion that said, 'say that again?'
He was in no mood to be nice right now. He'd apologise later.
