I do not like this episode so much, but it includes a few positive aspects as well.
It reminds me of the episode Heart and soul in a certain aspect, the crew is imprisoned in a dungeon for the most of the episode and they were waiting for the rescue by Sinbad. Here they were able to escape at least and participate in the final fight.
The main villians were not very interesting for me, a dictatorial ruler and a scary monster who was killed more easily than his lord. Maybe it was not so easy as in the case of powerful Gorgons, but still i would expect a little more.
I quite like the character of Ula, maybe for the reason that she was not the next girl of the week for our captain (it would be a little inappropriate if he dared to kiss a future queen) and the character of Schwind. I like how he hesitated about his presence in the fight but despite this he came to help Sinbad at the end. And if i am right, he even saved his life when he stepped out of the labyrinth.
I like the scene with Amphitrite by the porch. When she asked "What is it that you desire?" i know what i would desire the most if i was in his position (together with saving his crew and others).
The beginning scene where Firouz practicing his archery was quite funny and the reactions of his friends as well. And the ending scene where others named the list of reasons why Sinbad would not be a very good ruler also.

Hum, I must admit that apart from what you mentioned - i.e. that Sinbad was the sole hero again and the villain wasn't all too interesting - I quite like this ep. Mostly because of Ula and Aphrodite's part in this. Though the Goddess really had just a small appearance it still was an interesting scene to watch. Also, yes, we M/S shippers can easily guess what he'd desire most, but of course there are more important things than his feelings and it discerns him as someone who truly cares. Hehe, and the funny scenes - yeah, they were pretty good.

Yes, i like the part with this Godness as well despite the fact that there was only one scene with her. Similarly as a small cameo of Poseidon in the Siren's song, it was also nice. And i agree in the given situation, there were more important things which Sinbad had to care. I am simply a big M/S shipper.
And Ula and her band of rebells were also sympathetic to me. And i like that they participate on liberation of their empire.
This episode does not belong to my favourite, but it is not a bad episode at all.

What do you think that was the point of this test of Amphitrite? What Sinbad exactly proved to her when he decided to cut this knot instead of untying it? I am not completely sure of it.

Do you know what I like a lot about this episode? The fact that the screenwriters showed us that they are able to have a quite pretty and interesting lady in the episode who does not need to make a next catch of the week for our captain.
