I remember the show "Robin-hood", where they eventually changed both the characters playing Robin & Marian, & the show went totally downhill since then. Think I've seen this show, too. And yeah, the changes sucked.

@doubar quotes all you said ;D alex/Talya/Doubar about the Bryn/Maeve matter I also think that at the time the producer made a good choice in separating the characters. The fandom was so angry because of the change, that they wouldn't have accepted this kind of solution. But in my opinion a recasting is not always a bad idea, if it is done in a proper way. In the Harry Potter movies they changed Dumbledore's actor, but they were both great. If they had to made a AOS-movie after all this years, I think it would be different. The fandom is very small now. And I would rather prefer to have Maeve's character recasted rather than not having her in the story at all. But it's just me.

Okay. Let’s go on with the liveblogging now. I’ve no time to recover from that new shocking intro, (and by the way, I don’t like how they have arranged the music, season 1’s rhythm was better), because Sinbad and the new girl are still in trouble. Well anyway, from the pictures above it looks like they are enjoying their troubles. Do you remember any episode where the captain came so close to Maeve while fighting? Or if they took this kind of shot of Maeve while he kept on watching? What with that look? Are we really sure that he’s thinking about how to find her? THE WATCHERS: **Wake up sailor-boy, move your legs and search for Maeve!!!!!!** THE INGENUOUS ME FROM LONG TIME AGO: **I’ll Try to not bother about it. Things will surely go better later** MY ACTUAL SELF: **Daydreamer!!!! [evil-laught] wait and see, they’ll go even worse** And worse they went!! After they “luckily” escaped the unfortunate Cayman (I know it is a Cayman having read it on the scripts. Thanks Kriss), our heroes have to face the menace of………a cannibal tribe. (yes, and after that, even Spider-man, Zorro and Santa klaus) ********************* Okay. Time break. I need to make the point of the situation now, because I’m getting lost. This plot, at least so far. Is totally messed up. It’s so confusing and ridiculous that we can hardly understand what is passing by. The first big difference between the pilot of Season1 and “The Sacrifice”, is that the first one had a specific geographical and logical setting. Baghdad, Basra, the isle of Dawn, The Isle of Tears and so on. They could have been mythical places, but they were coherent with the AOS fictional world. The setting is the first thing we have to settle when we write a story. Now!! Shift back to S2-1. Where are we? From the looks of it (considering the pre-Columbian pyramid,[I’ve still not encountered it at this point of the blogging, but there is one]) we are somewhere in America or in the Caribbean seas. Lets ignore for a while that this should be a 1-thousand-and-1-night-like story and those Maya, Incas or whatever shouldn't have nothing to do with it. Then, why nobody among Sinbad and the crew take a bit of their time to explain (to their faithful watchers) why on heart they were sailing in those dangerous waters and so far away from the Arabic gulf? Nothing wrong with it. If only Sinbad wasn’t working as an ambassador for the Caliph, and at the time there weren’t contact with those distant places (I’m only guessing, correct me if I’m wrong). But even if they could go there (he’s the master of the seven seas after all). FOR ALL THE GENIES SAKE!!!!! EXPLAIN WHY!!! Unfortunately the watchers should get used to this kind of trend, because from this moment on, they’ll keep on travel whenever and wherever they want without any apparent valuable reason. ************ Now. Coming back to the story, what do you think the cannibals wanted if not eating Bryn? **Them too? Sounds repetitive** And who do you think would be the winner in a sword fighting among hundreds of cannibals vs a semi-naked girl and a leather-panted boy? **Skips the whole battle because it’s too long and annoys me** But the latter of course. !!!!! **poor cannibals, the two played dirty because she used magic** Anyway. It’s all for now. To be continued……(maybe)

I thought one of the most disappointing part of Season II, besides loosing Maeve, was the lack of story line, they jumped from place to place with no transitions (at one point they are in eastern Africa, then they are in Phoenicia, then they are back in Basra – there is no Suez canal so how could they travel so far) or explanations where they are going, and the lack of creativity. Did anybody think the first episode of Season II was like an ancient version of King Kong?

*chuckles* Well, yeah. It reminds one a bit of the great Kong. And, aye, Bryn and Dermott: such a lack of story line it had been. @derm: Still love your blogging. ;D

I mean, come on, you have a giant squirrel (laughs) hitting his chest just like Kong. Then you have the native kidnap Bryn and chain her to give to the giant squirrel. Then you have the squirrel play with her (instead of eating her). Then she runs away, and the squirrel gets all mad. How long did they think on this episode?

*joins Frouz in laughing* Yeah. Sounds like the writers had been sitting around a big table, talking:
1st writer: Ouch, I've got such a head ache. Had too much to drink yesterday. 2nd writer: Hum, but we have to think about something for that 2nd season. 3rd writer: Yeah, and don't forget that Jacky is gone. We have to indroduce Mariah somehow. 2nd writer: We already have that storm haven't we? 1st writer: *with a cracked voice* Yeah. The old scenes. That graphic-guy is going to lay a storm ontop of them. *holds his head* 2nd writer: So, there's only a plot for Mariah left, right? 1st writer: Yes. Now, could we please finish this quickly. *moans* 3rd writer: Yeah, and I have a date at ... whoa, about 30 minutes. *starts to already clean up his desk* 2nd writer: Well, what about this: There's that storm. Maeve gets lost and Sinbad jumps behind her. He awakens on an unknown island where he's being found by DimDim. He asks him for Maeve but only gets the answer that he has to find a young girl which will decide on... *is being interrupted* 1st writer: Ouch my head! 3rd writer: If we were to make up such a story - have you any idea how long it would take us? We need something simple. I gotta go soon. *takes a look at his watch* 2nd writer: All right, all right. And what would you suggest, hm? 3rd writer: Hummmm. *ponders* 1st writer: *moans again* Why not use something that's already been there. Those people infront of the TV won't notice it. *snorts* They'll kill us for cancelling Maeve anyway. Ouch! *holds his head again* 3rd writer: *murmers* Something that's already been. *suddenly smiles* What about KingKong? 2nd and 1st writer: WHAT??? 3rd writer: KingKong. Good story. Brought millions of Dollars. The girl. The monster. Simple but good. Simply replace the gorilla by some CGI thing and include some cannibals instead of NewYorkers ... there we are! 2nd writer: Uh, I don't know. Isn't that a bit ... too simple and obvious? 1st writer: *moans loudly* It'll do. I'm gonna go home. You write this out. 3rd writer: Why. I think it's brilliant. And hey: most of the kids that watch this series for sure have never seen KingKong anyways. *puts on his jacket* I'm off then. Good job we did. ...
Just an idea how this could have worked. *laughs* ;D

You are absolutely right Firouz. They do the same thing in season 1, there were a lot of quotes and references there too. But with the difference that they were revised and adapted according to the storyline. @doubar Thanks. I'm into another fandom where people always do liveblogging. So I've stolen the idea Oh. My God. I've laughted so much for your post. ;D ;D ;D It's like in this video video.libero.it/app/play?id=ac225740a4dcda80af99c39340c62fc2It's a parody made for JJ Abrhams's Lost. But I don't think that for AOS had been different.

Doubar~ ;D ;D ;D You should post something like that more often! *bursts into laughter imagining that scene again* Derm~ If they are going to do a movie, then yes, I think I too will have Maeve recasted than not being in the movie at all, But she must look atleast something like Jacky! I mean, red hair, brown eyes.. Hey, does it mean they have to recast Sinbad too? NO!!

If they make a movie without Jackie, then they have to have a good explanation why she looks different. I just thought having Bryn be actually Maeve (Bryn does not know this at first and neither does Sinbad) because Dim-Dim changed Maeve's form to protect her from Rumina would be the simplest explanation.

Replacing Maeve with another actress would´ve been the better solution me thinks, even though I wouldn´t have liked that toooo much either, cause I like Jacky in that role and there was some nice sort of chemistry going on that I´m not sure would´ve worked like that with another actress.
But on the skirt scene, that was the point where I was headdesking. Hard.

True, but it would have caused less grief by fans and perhaps even saved the show.
