I though it could be nice to have a tread dedicated to AoS graphics and drawings avaliable on the net. I'll start with this picture painted by fantasy artist Donato Giancola in 1996. Producers commissioned him this drawing to use it as a promotional poster for AoS. www.donatoart.com/theadv.htmlMaeve is ideantical to this picture: If I remember correctly this was the first attempt for Maeve's outfit in the show ( I like it ^.^) What do you think about Sinbad? He doesn't looks like Zen Gesner to me. And....the Rainbow Bracialet...is actually a "golden bracialet" ;D ;D ;D I wonder what Ed Naha had in mind when he write the first version of his story .

Aww, Maeve´s so pretty on this photo Yeah, I agree. My first thought was: "Meh, he doesn´t look like Zen." cause Zen is... well... really hot and stuff

;D Aye, now I remember that pic, too. Have seen it some years ago on some fansite. Have to admit back then I even didn't realize it had really been Zen and Jaqueline on the painting. x) As an explanation: haven't seen the picture posted on the top any earlier than last year. And since the Sinbad on the painting looks much more like in the old movies I simply didn't link the two of them together. But, as for me: I have to admit I do prefer the outfit Maeve got in the show. The one at the top reminds me a bit too much of the "Robin Hood"-tales (not that I didn't like them though) or maybe rather a gipsy-girl.

*tilts head to side* True. She looks tad more medieval here. Even though, I usually find it rather difficul to place the show in any particular time. Mythology wise it would be antiquity but there are clues hinting more towards middleages too.
Heh, yeah, the poster has that typical swashbuckling flicks sort of flair ;D That kinda reminds me of a doodle I tried of Zen some months back.

@doubar Yes, I though of the old Sinbad movies too. I always tell to myself "Watch those ones!!!" But I still have to search for them. I remember vaguely something from my childood. By any chance, there was a red-haired heroine if I'm not wrong? @sinbad I prefer Maeve's celtic outfit too. Luckily they decided to change the pendant at least ;D ;D I'd like to see your doodle . Why don't you post it there?

*rummages around on her puter* This one. I´m okay with it. I don´t really like the fact I messed up that spot above his eye though.

Amazing, Zen's facial traits are perfectly captured here. You are very talented, and good at shading with the pencil tecnique. Hope to see more drawings from you. Ah, and by the way, don't worry about his eye, perhaps he got hurt during one of those fights in second season ;D ;D

Thankees Well, in that case, he probably had a fight with a giant eraser I do have more doodles, but they are portraits connected to other fandoms.

Have you ever seen that episode of Friends where he plays a guy Rachel goes on a date with? I have to keep reminding myself to show a different episode every time I use Friends to work on sitcoms or before holidays in English class *shifty eyes*

Never saw that episode , shame on me. But I always miss it at every Friend's reruns. I should try to find the streaming on the internet. How you use friends to "work on sitcoms"?

The episode is called "The one with all the kissing" if this is any help. Well, for 11th grade the curriculum requires teaching how to deal with television as media. It means they learn how to analyse movie scenes (e.g. colours, camera moves, dialog, music, etc.) and other "moving images". I usually try to cover a bit of everything since it is basically to teach them have a better eye for cause and effect and analysis of television and movie stuff. So it´s good to do a mix of let´s say: movie, documentary, news, commercials, tv show (e.g. sitcom). Friends works nicely to have them practice oral summaries and train them in grasping general plot structures since there are usually two or three plots per episode. It´s also good for creative writing exercises and analysing voice / dialog / body language or doing characterisations of the characters.

It sounds interesting, in Italy we don't have media classes in secondary school. I didn't study this kind off subject myself until I was at university, and just by my own choice. Italian school is boring sometimes . Thank you for the title. I'll try to check on Surf the Channel. ;D ;D Is your doodle taken from that episode?
