Hi guys,
Recently, i bought the DVDs of season 1 and season 2 of Sinbad. That show was my favorite one when i was a children. Watching all the episodes brings me back so many good memories!! Back in the days, i was playing in the neighborhood with my red bandana around my head and my plastic sword, pretending i was Sinbad. Even today, i'm still wearing my red badana when i'm on my boat! Sinbad is really the hero that marked to most my early life! So, i was looking on the web, to see if i was the only fan remaining of this show. I'm so happy to have found you guys and girls!!
As i said, it brings back good memories, but a lot of mix-feeling aswell. I still have a mix of saddness and anger to see that season 3 was cancelled... I was searching around on this forum and i saw the interview with Ed Naha about why the show was cancelled + what would have been Season 3 about... Again, i was pissed that it was cancelled... And than, i saw the interview with Jackie about why she left. It answered some questions i had, but not entirely...
Up to this day, i still have some hope to see them back on TV to answer all our questions! We need to find a way to bring them back.

Hey there! =) Wow, so you own the DVDs? Lucky you! But you know what? It was one of my fav shows, too, when I was a child (well, I guess it was for all of us or else we wouldn't be here ^^). I never had a red bandana or plastic sword though, but still I can well imagine that it was a lot of fun pretending to be Sinbad. And what an awesome thing to do - still wearing the red bandana on your boat! I really am happy you found us, because it's nothing but awesome to meet fellow fans! It was indeed just awful when S3 got ditched. For long I didn't even know why it was or what had lead to Maeve's disappearance. Many places of the old fandom have vanished or moved as the years went by, and I guess we have to deem ourselves lucky that we still were able to collect all these infos. But I guess that's one of the huge benefits of being such a large crew - everyone knows something or has something to share and together we can create something great. Ow, it would certainly be awesome to see all our questions answered but I highly doubt this crew could be brought back unless in a new shape. There's been too many years in between and we've just seen another Sinbad show fail, but maybe one day technology will allow us to make our dreams come true. I mean, back when the show was aired I had never dreamt about making fanvids myself and now look at what the present has brought us. We all can make fanvids without much effort, so who's to say that one day we won't be able to continue the Nomad's tale?

it's so lovely to know your childhood memories and how you much you love it till now it reminds me of mine too, i never give up with the show, never forget it, however my situation was different my local T.V. wasn't ever interested in displaying foreign programs neither about completing the episodes nor about their arrangement!! it was a great MESS i hated it, so probably they displayed 4 or five ep from each season and still repeated them when they even remember to display it, though they displayed S1 only once but S2 for twice and another time after 2 or 3 years,,, same few ep and repetition system ,, but i admired it to no end -the little i saw- and the characters still stuck with my mind till i grow up ,,, when i remember only shadows of the events, but i worked my imagination all this time and imagined new adventures and so, while each day i pray that this suck TV would display anything concerning the show... anything, and it never did, i remember when i discovered some stickers about the show i was in my thirteen or around .... i didn't believe it from my super-joy and started to collect as much as i could get,, it was only one store i found,, through a friend of mine, then i bought a new notebook ;D ;D ;D from my own money that i was storing i picked one that was moderately expensive ;D ;D well it's for Sinbad, right? ;D and stick all the stickers and tiny posters in few pages of it, like it was an album,, and i was so proud of my achievement... if i don't have the show, at least i have an album..... well a little one ;D ;D and i stayed for YEARS stuck with this album as any toddler sticks to her teddy bear ;D ;D ;D, i wasn't sleeping unless get a long look with pondering to the whole album, my mind trying to fight to remember any details of the characters or the show, especially Maeve whom i was obsessed by her but wasn't remember anything about her, not the character, not the uniform, not the voice.... nothing and unfortunately she was the only character with less stickers like one or 2 only,, i wasn't remembering but the Dermott was her brother, and Sinbad love her, and i loved her back then,, ooohhh,,,, MEMORIES you know i still keeping the album in my precious storage i can search for it and take pic of it ,, posting here if anyone interested ;D ;D ;D

That's some very nice thing to hear! I would be happy to see pictures of your album, that's for sure!! I have a question for you, what was the main problem that made Jackie left the show? In a interview she said that she didn't like where the show was going, etc, or was it because she didn't want to stay away from his son? Anyway, buying the DVDs is one of my best decision lol. It's amazing to watch all the episodes once again! ahah BTW, sorry for my bad english, it's not my mother tongue aha!

The same meaning has this Tv series for me, I have the strong connection towards the first season, it was aired in our country when I was ten years old and during the repetitions it was aired in the time, when I was in school, so I forced my mother or my grandpa to record it. It is the great memory of the times, when I was the carefree little boy, I still love it. The second season i found a few years later (it was aired in our country only one time and it was not aired completely), I like it, but I have not such strong connection towards it. When I have a bad mood or I am tired I usually play back an episode and it is the great way of the relaxation.
My English also has some mistakes, I try to avoid them, my knowledge of English has improved since the start of my learning of this language, but I still need to improve my language a lot.
I also hoped in more closed end. I hoped in the finding of Dym Dim and Maeve, in the dealing with Rumina and Turock or in founding some information about the origin of Bryn. Unfortunately, any of these things did not happen.

hannibalthen i'll search for it for sure just in 2 days from now coz i have some exams right now , i'm sure her son was one big reason for her to leave coz they refused to give her some off-time to spend with him during or after the shot -or after S1 i guess- ,,, she said she stayed a long time without spending any with him also if i remember correctly i guess she said something like she felt or heard they don't want her anymore so she took the step herself and i know she said not liking where the show was going but didn't get it clearly, may be she meant the change we all notice between the 2 seasons,,, it's obvious that S2 is more like a completely independent show!!! not related to S1 except in characters names! Even Zen & Ed both dislike it and disliked the whole change but got nothing to do about, Ed also said he was forced to give away all what he wrote and prepare for S2 and started to write a new one under the producers instructions, they were ordering him! at least that what i got,, for a character like Jackie, i guess she won't accept it at all, also the guys here may tell us what was it better than i did, yeah,, re-watching whole show again is so much fun, i know this feeling mancheWow, you made your family record the episodes aww , you know you're lucky what a beautiful memories and yeah, everytime i have a bad mood -even now- i go back to the show and it relax me and improve my mood oh, how both Seasons ended, was a misery! very disappointing ... first S2 is like not related at all to all S1 main problems and events,,, it's good to see Scratch in last ep, it reminded us : 'whoa look, it's supposed to be S2 of same show!!' very bad ending, but at least we know they planed to make it up in S3 before canceling, they were bringing back Rumina & her father,,, revealing Bryn story and such, manche & Hannibal, don't worry about English,, it'll improve with time it's not my mother language too, and i was too bad at first, but now i'm much better, say guys, from which countries are you ? if you don't mind, of course if you don't like to mention then no worries there also if you like you can simply mention it in the Welcome Chat V area as it's private

I am from the Czech republic. When it was aired here I was a small boy and I had not the access to the Internet, so I was dependent on broadcasting in television, which aired the first season in very bad time and they stopped the broadcasting of the second season in the middle without any repetition. The last repetition of this Tv series in our TV was thirteen years ago.

@teti: Ehehehe, seriously? You now got a plastic sword? How awesome is that?! ;D And of course we'd love to see the album, dear. Truth be told, I didn't even know that somewhere in the world stickers existed for the show. The only thing I had when I watched the show was some tiny pics that I cut out of our TV magazine, and some precious print-outs from the net. I still have those, too, as to me they equaled a treasure. ;D @all three: Oooh, that's the same for me, really - I, too, often watch the old eps when I'm in a foul mood or when I'm ill. They just hold too many good memories and remind me of the days when I thought that life was all like in AoS S1: bright, funny and good. Aw, great times those were. Hey, and aye, don't worry about your English, guys. Most of us aren't native speakers and are still learning. So never feel shy to post. We all know what it's like. hannibal: Well, I think those with the most detailed knowledge about this would be 2K and Firouz I think, but according to what info we could gather over the years, the main reason was that Jacqueline wanted to spend more time with her family - which is completely understandable. And it wouldn't have been much of a problem either, Maeve could have simply stayed at Caipra's for some time which would have given Jacqueline a less tight schedule. However, things happened that weren't pretty and that are never quite named in detail and suddenly things didn't work out anymore. Eventually they rather wanted her out, and she wanted to go so the role of Maeve was written out of the plot completely. But maybe I better quote her, because she's visited the board shortly after it was founded: But someone said I was crying when I left the show...ummm...no, I wasn't. I asked to be let off the show half way through filming the first season. I told them I was not happy and would prefer not to return if things were going to carry on the way they had been. But rather than come to an agreement they chose to just drop me after the first season instead. It was fine with me, I wanted off, but I did not like the way they handled it. So believe me there were no tears for that. I was sad to leave Mia, the hawk, and Zen, and George too actually. But thats about it. And I wound up retiring from acting altogether not long after anyway. So yeah, I hope this helps a bit. manche: Aw, I, too, had only the TV at first. Over here they broadcasted the show when I was about 11 and the second season was aired shortly after I think. They had several re-runs over the last decade which gave me the opportunity to record most of the eps. But last time the show was on, half-way through S2 they banned it to a 2am slot. 2 am! At weekdays! Well, I guess ratings weren't too great anymore. I still got up for some of the eps to record them. ;D

Thank for the infos, Doubar and Eric-Deamus!! It helps to heal the wound a little bit! ahaha Back in the days, were there some petitions going on for the return of the show? With the support of the cast?

You're welcome. And yeah, I definitely remember having stumbled across a petition, but that was years after the show ended. The petition was outdated by then but a good number of fans had signed it. And Tim Proggosh was involved, too, if I remember right. Out of all the cast he's always been most passionate about brining the show back and giving it the end it deserves. For a long time he also was one of the admins for the facebook AoS group but then fb re-structured itself and closed all the old groups down. The AoS group from back then has not been founded anew and Tim now isn't involved in the fandom anymore as far as I am aware.

Yeah, that would be nice indeed, if the show were to get a closure in any way.

Very very nice indeed! But I think with our stories we paint a better picture of our "perfect" ending than any camera could.
