Uhm, just a quick question ... would you guys mind me claiming Gunnar from the new Sinbad series as the captain of Majid's ship?



I don't know if it will ever be an issue anyway, but I've been thinking about it lately and came to the conclusion that with the slight trust-issue that Majid has he wouldn't have any random guy be in charge and ship his wares. Instead it would have to be one of the few people he truly trusts, one of his few friends in short. And I could Gunnar (the name needn't necessarily be the same, I'll just keep him calling that for now) imagine to be such a person. He'd obviously be a stranger in these lands just like Majid is, which makes me think there could well have been an event in the past where they got to know and trust each other. Also, as I would assume his personality to be roughly like the canon Gunnar's, he's got enough authority - not only but also due to his his looks already - to captain a ship well.

Of course that character would also be up for grabs, and could be tweaked according to anyone's liking, the only restriction being that he has to be a loyal friend of Majid's and generally a lawful person who can tell right from wrong.

If no one has objections I'd add him to the npc list then, even though it's not sure whether he'll ever be used. But I thought about it for long now, and I cannot picture anyone better for the captain of Majid's ship. Thus I really hope there's no objections. Yet if there are, do voice them out. Thanx.

And same here: this first crossed my mind while watching Ep2 and ever since I've been thinking about it. I had wondered before what to do with Majid's ship. When I had first invented him as a npc I had planned for him to be a sailor, captaining his ship himself. But as he grew to be a real chara I realized this was rubbish. I just can't see this with him, and realized I'd need a captain for his ship. I couldn't think of anyone really... that is until I saw Gunnar in the new adventures. And I'm so happy to see that you feel the same way there.

I agree, there'd be a deep trust between the two men and a strong friendship. There would have to be, or else Majid wouldn't trust this man with his ship and wares.
And last but not least do I, too, like Gunnar lots. I got a soft spot for these wise and mysterious characters anyway.

While I haven't seen the new Sinbad series (have to put that on my list of "things to do" now lol xD), this fellow looks like a fitting character to be captain of Majid's ship. ^^ So you have no argument from me in this decision! (:

Just because I miss working with Majid as a char... A long while ago, Teti and I did some brainstorming on who was going to portray Majid's family if we ever got so far in the play. And the lovely lady came up with amazing actors in amazing roles and while we once thought it better to wait till we actually start with the desert plot, I now just feel like sharing the pics with you.

AWWWWWWW AND FINALLY, here is the desert family!

whoaaa...... wait a second!!!!!!! you gave him the tattoo how did you do it wow, i didn't think we can do this move, plz tell me how you did it
and it's just fitting you know? now it's very realistic especially as they both belong to same tribe and so,, also as Arif become the leader after his brother is gone, and before he is supposed to be his heir if Majid doesn't have a son,,

however -just between us *not for the story*- the whole tattoo thing isn't .... convenient, as they always show it in Mummy!! Arabians even those living in desert don't wear tattoos as our religion doesn't allow it, so not realistic that men -especially men- put them, as men aren't allowed for any 'makeup' of the women, neither gold nor accessories too (you know like rings, bracelets,....) and any feature that makes them appearing as ladies,
but tattoos are forbidden for both men and women .... instead women wear Henna

aaand here is Aeisha so you made you decision about her
oh actress name is Solaf Fawakhergy/ji !!!!!!!! weird, very weird name! i don't believe it's Arabian but the actress is actually, but who knows, may be it's Syrian,,

my impression about your choice before/after is........ amazingly fitting choice,,, the first picture may show her as still young girl -somehow- as not married yet and didn't carry the responsibilities of being the leader's wife,,, which is greatly shown in second pic,, where she seemed more serious, more adult and i can imagine this shot for her when Nuray was taken........ i mean the mother now is ready to go by herself as a warrior to get her back,
while in the first shot, she just looked like a little spoiled as a leader daughter .... like a princess, not really serious about true rough life,

also the tattoo on her chin in the second pic -in Egypt only >> the Upper Egypt and Egyptian desert 'Badwo'- women wear it previously after they are married -i think- so you know that this lady is married, i don't know if they still use it because as i told you it's not allowed by religion,,, however it has been their custom! and they don't give it easily!
i think it's the only tattoo you may find in Arabia, but i'm not sure,,,

Aww, don't say that, i did nothing,, it has been my pleasure to work on this plot idea and find linkages, fitting ava, and so,,, it was the best of my fun time ever,,, i enjoyed it to no end,
and i wish deeply we could work on this plot and write it,, coz it has very good story,,, and best of all ........... it contains almost every character here and link between them so they look like one very big family

Heehehe, the tattoos are pretty cool, eh? ;D Well, for one of the pics (I think it's the second one, i.e. the one that shows him by the time Majid returns) I blended Ardeth's tattoo with Taim's pic and for the first I think I kinda copy-drew the tattoo if I remember right. If I have a little more time on my hand I will try and send you a mail and explain better. In any case I'm super happy to know you like the results.

Aw, and yeah, I thought it would be just reasonable for them both to have the tattoos. I'm not quite sure yet if the whole tribe shares them or if that's reserved only for the leading couple and the heir. But I guess I have quite some time left to decide on that one, lol. xD

Oh, but really? I must confess I didn't know this. Although it's true - when I think about it, I've never seen any pictures of tattoo-ed Arabians. And I didn't know that it was forbidden for you, but thanx for sharing that info!
Aw, such a pity though that the tattoos are thus not quite as convincing because... gah, they just look too good on this figure. ;D But on the other hand... this is AoS and it's a game, right? We can let our creativity fly free just a little bit and imagine that there are some tribes that used tattoos. :3

(P.S.: On another note though... men not being supposed to wear any kind of jewelry thus means that Sinbad's bracelet and Doubar's earring are yet another inaccuracy, right? )

Whoot, and thank you SO much for giving me Solaf's name. I had totally forgotten about it and had no idea how to retrieve it apart from going back to search in the old mails (btw. my God, there's still one of the plotting mails that I never replied to, isn't there? ). You really are a star! <3

Aw, and I'm so happy you like the choice of pictures. I just liked both so much and just like you described it thought that while the second fits her younger self amazingly well, the second pic just shows her after she's learned to live with all the responsibility. There's a certain kind of pride, strength but also wisdom about the second shot that I just love and which I like to imagine Ayesha to show by the time our trio would arrive. Wow, and so well spoken - it is so easy to imagine her being more than willing to go out and get her daughter back herself.

Whoa, and what a great info about the Badwo women. I really didn't know but absolutely LOVE it that the tattoo actually is something that's historically real. And it also fits so well with the story, because I would imagine Ayesha, too, got her tattoo after marrying. And one more thing: I love the info even more because... *motions for Teti to come closer, whispers* You remember that I once mentioned hoping to know how to involve Connor? I promised to send you a mail back then... which, much to my endless shame, I never did (please forgive me!) ... and tell you about the idea. Well, basically it was all about the question where Majid's tribe resides and I was always sooo tempted to let it be in Egyptian territory (hey, a girl can dream, right? ;D ) - or at least close to it. And in order to get there faster, they could have taken the Desert Rose to journey southwest... So when now you tell me that the tattoo on Ayesha's second pic belongs to Egyptian desert women... I for one think that to be awesome. Hehe. ^^

Aw, and so well spoken about the plot. I, too, wish we'd already be there - it'd be so awesome to see almost all the board's chars be united in this story but I guess we'll just have to be patient. None of us is getting any less busy but I still have hopes that eventually, we will get there.
