I always wondered why Sinbad and Maeve didn't hug when she was back on the ship after being rescued in the tub. I mean, almost every time they faced a challenge, they had a sweet moment. But look from 25:01 www.youtube.com/watch?v=k13KtkR0aY8Sinbad looks happy and relieved, he actually reaches for her after she steps over the railing, as if he intented to hug her or something. Poor little Sinbad, his face changes, he looks disappointed when she walks away ignoring him frustrated because of Alana. He even protested ''Maeve, we thought you were ...'' (dead, lost, drawn, etc.), lol ;D

*falls off her chair laughing* You're so right! Sinbad's facial expression is priceless as Maeve takes no notice of him but just looks out for Alana. Lol! Great finding there, Fire. ;D

Poor Amid. He falls overboard, no one cares. But when Maeve falls overboard, that'a a different story !

True indeed. But then again it's never a big story if one of the minor crew is in trouble/gets lost/whatever. Poor lads, really. xD

I love all Sinbad/Doubar brother to brother moments, but this always makes me smile. I love that scene, when they sit alike on the ground. Doubar : You mean I was acting like a love sick fool. Sinbad : No one who offers love is sick or a fool, big brother. Doubar : *chuckles/grumbles* Sinbad : *puts his hand on Doubar's shoulder* That much I know. *Doubar nods* *Sinbad chuckles, gets up and leaves* Hmmm ... maybe I'm over-interpreting, but I think we need to read between the lines here.

Awww, yes, they are so sweet indeed. Love them, too. Though I must admit, I never consciously noticed they even sat alike in that scene. That's so lovely. Might I ask though what you hint at when you say we ought to read between the lines (i.e.: what do you think he truly wanted to say? You think he was referring to himself, too)? ^^

I think he was saying he was in love. I have to rewatch it but my impression was that right after, Doubar kinda nodded, but it happens really quickly so it might just be my interpretation of his body langage. I just felt the brothers just knew at that moment, what it felt like. I don't think he was referring to Leah either

Aw, I see. Have to confess that never crossed my mind, but it's a very sweet interpretation for sure.

Hmmm, the way he says it, sounds to me like he personaly know what it is. Only saying ''someone who offers love is not sick or a fool'', it's impersonal, it's a universal statement. But ''that much I know'' sounded to me like he was saying it personally, as if he could totally relate to that statement. Of course we don't know much of his past, but we know he loved Leah, and we presume he loves Maeve. And earlier that day, he was dead worried about her when she fell overboard. So that could make sense. After she fell overboard Looking for her ''We will find her. We won't stop searching until we do'' Have you seen her ? Then what are you doing here ?! Get back out there and keep looking !'' Where is she ? ''I found her'' I love Zen's acting. ;D

You're absolutely right! Guess it just never thought of that because I usually watch S1 in our dubbing. And in that it's really just a lovely brother-to-brother talk. But I will for sure check on the way Sinbad says that.

He touches Doubar's shoulder and squeezes it while saying this line, so we don't see his face. But here's the one that immediately follows: I don't know, I guess there are many possible interpretations. But I believe the smirk is linked to what he just said. It could be he's recalling to Doubar how many times he had teased him about him and Maeve (that's why Doubar should believe him when he says ''that much he knows'', because Doubar had many times implied that he did), or ... it's a knowing, half-smile, meaning he knows perfectly well how it feels (again, could be related to Leah, ? from his past, or Maeve being the most recent).

Could possibly be that he's talking about Maeve. Ed did say that the show was supposed to have all sorts of subplots with Maeve and Sinbad that never got to be used so...

The great episode.
There were great moments between brothers, especially the scene by the fire and their talk as the brother with the brother.
A lot of great moments were also between Maeve and Sinbad. The first talk between them was amazing, the assistence of Rongar also. His concern after her disappearance was nice. It was the shame, that they did not hug after her return but there was not time.
And the moments between crew were great here. Firouz and Rongar's help Maeve with searching Alanna's cabin, Firouz's demostration his invention prior Sinbad (It was one of the most funny scene with him in the whole Tv series) and the final scene, when Doubar was happy, that he has such great friends.
The interesting plot, the interesting villian.

Alana was one of the very few evil demonesses on the show and she did it well!
Because really, she's either extremely powerful sorceress to turn into a harpy-like creature, or a harpy naturally in human form.
