It´s a movie based on the memoirs of an African American who lived in New York with his family and was abducted and forced into slavery, taken to the south where he had to spend years with a false name they gave him and without his family knowing what became of him. Very very hard to watch at times, but an incredibly brilliant and extremely important movie. Even though the trailer might suggest otherwise, it´s not the typical Hollywood pomp of emotions, it´s very down to earth, very little movie score even, long scenes, raw emotions. I don´t agree with this movie being ages 12 and up here in Germany,it´s defintely too hard to watch for young teenagers, but it leaves a huge impression. I´ve never experienced a cinema crowd like that. Movie ended, screen went black and nobody said a word, it was dead silent and everyone stayed for the credits. I heard nobody even as much as whiper as they left. www.youtube.com/watch?v=vUQNjfhlREk

@sinbad, yes, I have seen it; you are right it does leave people silent and profoundly effected.
It hits more emotionally here (America) as it wasn't so very long ago.....

As for me this past weekend I watched Maleficent with Angelina Jolie and How to Train your Dragon 2! LOVED THEM BOTH!!! Maleficent shows a very different side to the fairytale and I LOVED it!

I was thinking about going to watch Maleficent, too. The trailer looked pretty good and I love the fact that it shows a different side to the tale.

Yea, the movie shows a very different side to Maleficent and it is a really good movie. One that makes you feel badly for ever thinking she was an evil person to being with. I really liked it; you will too, trust me!

I havent watched Maleficent yet either. I probably will soon though, Maybe I will rent it on my Ipad for when I go on holidays. I also recently watched How to train your dragon 2 with my best friend. We both loved the movie. I think I liked the second one better than the first one. My friend and I both almost cried though when... well I dont want to give away a part of the movie incase someone hasnt seen it. Also recently.. as in 2 days ago I finally watched The Hobbit "Desolation of Smaug" I have read/heard alot of people say that they didnt enjoy this movie as much as they did the first one. I do agree with them it wasnt quite as good, but I would still watch it again and again. I found that I got a better understanding of the events AFTER I rewatched the first movie. As it was fresh in my mind. But thats just me. I cant wait for the third movie to come out. I will be definitely watching it in theaters

Have watched neither Maleficent nor How to train your dragon 2 yet but my boyfriend really liked the first one so maybe we'll catch up on the second part one day. Probably when it's released on DVD. As for the Hobbit: Oh, I for one liked both parts. They are indeed a bit long and some things could have been shortened but I love how PJ added so much stuff from the Appendixes from LotR. Will definitely be watching the last part in the theatre, too.

Had a sick day a couple weeks ago and watched The Rescuers Down Under, one of my favorite Disney films. <3

Last night, I was so sick and bored! I even logged in but couldn't stay online to reply on any post. However, I could watched a movie before getting the stomachache! So... while searching through my little library I found one movie that I like so much, well not as "Cold Mountain" but still, it's "The Holiday" I enjoyed it greatly until my stomach started screaming! It's 2008's movie I guess, but if anyone hadn't watch it I recommend it
