For me, tuition and fees cost $2500 per semester. (I go to a public university.) Housing costs an additional $2500 per semester. At Duke (private university) tuition and housing costs $25,000 per year. (Semester is 1/2 a year.)

Whoa Until about 2 years ago, studying at normal universities (not talking about private special programs and stuff) was free apart from a low semester fee for bus ticket and stuff. I paid a good 100 Euros for each semester, there was no university fee whatsoever. Then, about two years ago, there were huge demonstrations and discussions because of university fees. From then onwards, universities can now take 500 Euros per semester (in addition to the bus ticket fee). So seeing what you have to pay, the drastic reaction of university students against an introduction of a 500 bucks fee might seem strange, but free access to universities had always been granted since then and therefore access to university (which is not gained to everyone anyways, because depending on what school you go to, you´re not in the career path that might lead you there) was always seen as a kind of basic right. Here´s a somewhat older article on the protests. www.wsws.org/articles/2006/jul2006/germ-j06.shtml

@kriss: Aye, great job so far! @sinbad: Yeah, thank God the state I'm in does not take fees so far. This might change in a couple of years though. Till now they only promised to not take any till 2011 and who knows what will happen afterwards.

And my tuition is free, because my scholarship pays for it. ;D

@kriss: Aww, two new eps are up. You're really doing great. And, hehe, I still cannot imagine Monica as Maeve (even though her acting is really good as well). x)
