She blinked her eyes a bit and put a smirk on her face. "No, I'm going to eat exactly the same what you." She said sarcastically.

He narrowed his eyes a little further, suddenly run out of snarky remarks and therefore instantly deciding that it was not the right thing to do anyways and not honourable. "Good then." he therefore just replied curtly. "Let me know then when you want to meet."

Kriss thought for a while and concluded that the sooner, the best. She gave him a shadow of smile and proposed, "Maybe tomorrow, after your sentinel?"

Ziad was still distrustful, still not sure what exactly to make of all this and he was unable to completely hide this in his body language, but he nodded. "That would be before sundown." he said. "If this is all right with you." Why was he even saying yes to this he wondered. The odds were that he would regret it and end up in some sort of stupid argument with her that he had never intended to start.

She nodded in agreement. "It's fine with me." Then she gave him a qucik smile. "So I'm waiting then."
This dinner was the last thing that she was tempted to but she did not want to stay owes. Moreover, she knew that would be better to have him as a firend than as a foe.

He kept watching her, a glimmer of mistrust in his eyes just as if he was never certain whether or not she was merely mocking them. After a moment he nodded, then he gave her a short, polite bow as he was accustomed to give to a woman (in particular since he had decided that of the two of them at least he did have some manners) and left the tavern.

Kahlan heard everything that Kriss and the guard said including the guard asking seriously what was going on and Kriss finding the right answer that, once again, saved the life of the young woman. She tried not to laugh when she heard heard Kriss talking about her "intime needs". That archer was full of surprises.
A few moments later, the guard finally decided to leave, but not before having accepted a dinner with the tavern's owner. Kahlan was wondering what was going in Kriss's head for asking such a thing considering the circumstances. She didn't think it was the good moment, but she couldn't do anything to stop it.
Kahlan started to think about her case. She, actually, didn't know where she would be the next day. Maybe the best thing to do was to leave as soon as possible. She didn't have the rights to stay in Basra and she didn't want to create any more trouble to Kriss. Yes, it would be better like that. Kahlan decided to tell to the tavern's owner that she would spend the night here and would leave by the morning.
When she heard the guard leave the tavern, closing the door, Kahlan opened the kitchen's door and came into the main room. Kriss was standing there, watching the door. Kahlan didn't know if she had noticed her.
"I thought he was never going to leave", she said, coming closer to the young woman.

Kriss was watching how the guard was leaving her tavern and she had not noticed Kahlan at first. She turned at woman while she was talking to her. "Me, either." She said and rolled her eyes. She went to her private corner and put Anile on his furry carpet and covered him with the plaid. She smiled at Kahlan while passing her.

Kahlan watched Kris with her son. Her attitude was really different when she was with Aniel. No one could believe that she'd just killed some men and burned the bodies few hours ago.
The young woman took a sit next to the bar. She was still wet and tired, but she wanted to talk to the lady about her decision before going to sleep.
"So...you have a date tomorrow night if I understood correctly." She said smiling.

Kriss laughed out loud at Kahlan's words, "A date with him?!" She asked ironically. He was the last man which she wanted to date with. "I offered him a dinner because I own him something. Beside, I wouldn't like to have him as my another enemy." She explained and twinkled at her. Then the archer sat by the bar but from the other side. She put two little glasses on it and filled them with the wine. "Drink it. It will warm you." She said with smile and raised one glass.

Kahlan laughed, shaking her head, and took the other glass and said "thanks" raising it. Then she drank a sip. "Okay, maybe it's not a date, but be careful that it doesn't end up like that. And you've got a point...it's better to have him as a friend for now, considering the circumstances." Kahlan stopped for a few seconds before added "By the way, I wanted to talk to you about that..."

Kriss smirked at thought about date with Ziad. "Let's say he is not my type." But she had to admit that this cheeky, annoying creature had not so bad casing.
She looked at the woman with curious eyes, "I'm listenning" and let her talk.

Kahlan was twirling her glass on the bar, watching it. She took a deep breath, looked up at Kriss and started. "Well , first of all, let me tell you that I'll never thank you enough for what you did for me. You took a lot of risks, without even knowing me. But the fact is that I have no rights to stay in the city, and I don't want to put you in more troubles by staying here...That's why I plan to leave tomorrow morning." She didn't add that she was also afraid that Marek learns that she was still alive and sends more men after her.

Kriss just rolled her eyes at the woman. "Forget it. You are not going anywhere! I'm already implicated in that and you won't leave me. Don't ever think about it again."
Since Kriss again had this feeling, this one which she missed so, the adrenalin, she was not going to let it just go. Beside, she already had taken a fancy to Kahlan. She made the situation clear. She will not let her go alone anywhere.
The archer filled the glasses again and got back to the subject. "So, you don't have the permit?" she rised her eyebrows.

Kahlan was surprised by Kriss's reaction. It's not that she didn't think that the archer would not try to convince her not to leave, but it was the way she told her to stay. Some people would surely have wished that Kahlan didn't stay too long to avoid more problems. But the tavern's owner really seemed to want her to stay for a while.
The young princess really appreciated the young woman, and that's why she decided to stay with her. Besides, she had nowhere else to go for now. She would take her time to think about all this. Right now, she, indeed, had another problem.
"No, I don't have any permit", she answered. "I was here since less than an hour when I met you. I didn't even think about this before. I have to find a good story to tell to get one" She had said the last sentence slower, more for herself than for Kriss. It was out of question to tell the real reason of her presence in Basra. In a way, she didn't want to be a princess here, she just wanted to be...Kahlan
Kahlan drank a long sip of wine.
