Actually, in Little Miss Magic, Maeve says, "Sailing with Sinbad is full of surprises Firouz." ******** Actually, I, personally, think that Sinbad might have inherited a small amount of magic from someone in his line. Just enough for magical things like the rune stones to work. Plus, if we all remember, Sinbad WAS raised by DimDim for a time. He has been around magic since he was a child. And, from the episode with Puck, it's the belief in magic that makes it work or not work for those who have the gift. So, perhaps, Sinbad simply had a tiny amount of magic, knowledge of and a belief in magic, so the rune stones worked??? ********************* Tell me your opinions... Now really reading this thread.. that is phenomenal Firouz and also it is a very ver logical explanation as to Sinbad's little ability to use magic. Good job & thanks for sharing!

Oh, I"m sorry, I dins't know someone had responded to this after it seemed to have 'closed' down as it were. I'm glad you seem to like my theory! If you have one yourself, go ahead and post it!

I like your theory, Firouz. It's a logical explanation but I don't know why, I would have been dissapointed if I had found out that Sinbad had magical abilities, even if it's only a not-so-powerful magic. Maybe because in my head, Sinbad is a sailor, and adventurer. He's the leader, the one everybody is looking for strategy, etc. Giving him magic is a little bit too much for me... even if it's only a small amount ! So, I do think it's the bracelet who is the explanation. I see it as a magical artefact. If you follow Merlin series, you will understand what I mean : The staff Morgause gives to Morgana in the seconde episode of season 3. It's true that the girl is a sorceress but she was not in need of a powerful magic to use the staff. The staff carry is own powers. Maybe the rainbow bracelet carry is own power (DimDim's power)... I don't know. Not a very good theory but at least I tried

For me I go for both theories of Firouz and Eleana together, I mean he got some knowledge from raising up under DimDim surveillance ,, and his resulted VERY STRONG belief in magic that even appeared from first ep in S1 –his conversation with Doubar in the dungeon (Doubar: …even magic has been outlawed Sinbad: impossible, why, any idiot can see that the world is filled with magic, I mean the growth of a flower is all magic as the fly of dragon)-, this together with the bracelet self power that make his ability –derived from both knowledge & belief- appear practically and magnify its effect so that it enables him to use the stones powers properly,,, and do not forget the direct and obvious interference and effect of his bracelet in returning Doubar back human and undo the evil magic effect after he succeeded in reminding his brother their brotherhood bond and who is he really in the end of The Beast of Basra ep,,, Adding on these his Self confidence and strong belief in himself and in his ability to success, which was called “having strong heart” by Caipra when she tried to convince Maeve in Double Trouble ep, something that Sinbad has over Maeve who always isn’t self confident,,, and his belief too in THE POWER OF GOOD that should win at the end (Caipra: good is more powerful than evil, …),, all of these reason together may caused the magic to work with him even if he hasn’t real magical powers himself,, That’s for the show events,,, but for me I have other reason -with all that i mentioned above ;D - in my own theory depending on the magic nature itself not Sinbad, but as you already talk about the original events of the show so I think will mention it some when else,, keep it as mystery for the moment but promise to tell about in another occasion,

I thought that it was Sinbad himself who was a sort of magic, not that he was a magic weilder himself. I mean, when you are the sort of man that people all over the world tell stories of centuries later, you have to be something incredibly special, right? When your name reverbarates through time like that, when everyone who hears your name thinks of your story- well if that isn't magic, I don't know what is.
Am I making sense at all? It would be so much simpler if I could just draw a picture! So picture if you will, Sinbad. Now draw a yellow line all around him, and another, and another- those are the repetitions of the story. Now he looks really big and as if he glows. Now take away the repetitions, but not the bigness and the glow. That's the magic of Sinbad.
Yeah, I'm kind of bad at explanations...

I know that this is quite an old topic, but I remembered how Rongar was able (as the only person) to end the illusion of Trickster, could it indicate that he could use magic as well? Sinbad, Rumina and Maeve did not manage to end their hallucinations themselves and they were able to use magic previously. Maybe because his sister is the good witch?
