i've finally decided to put my character after tal told me to. I've already put a bit up under character intros. Anyways, this is what i have so far....
We've decided when Tal is on ship with her troup travelling to Basra she meets my character, Cyane from the north, and she is a stoaway. Still is working on why she is a stoaway and her backstory.

Hm, perhaps she was a thief or slave who ran away and hid on a ship. How does that sound?

i'm thinking she is looking for someone to lift a curse on her? Maybe while she was in the north she was placed with a curse and now she travels around hoping to find someone to get rid of it.

Hm, how about she was a slave to a sorcerer in the North who put a curse on her because she ran away. She heard of a great white sorceress named Caipra in Basra, so she asked for passage there. Every now and then, she would have pains because the curse was slowly eating her away. She told no one of her past, but Tal persuaded Cyane to tell her. Now it is a race to save Cyane's life. Will they make it in time? Find out on the next Adventures of Sinbad. ;D
How does that sound?

Hey mel. I personally like the idea with the curse. It could be very interesting. About the slave thing though ... uh, I know, I know ... it had been not all too uncommon, but do we have to add another has-been-a-slave/mistreated-and-ran-away story? I got the feeling we have so many of them here already. It would be nice to have a different background. And sorry, this is not meant to sound harsh. I know this is just a collecting ideas at the moment, but I'd still like to throw in this opinion of mine. And back to the curse: yep, like Sarah said, this would also be a brilliant reason for her to travel to Basra aaaaand to have her and Tal meet with the other characters at some point. And well: you got an idea already what the curse would be about?

How about, instead of a slave, she is a wealthy man's daughter who was sold to the highest bidder, who just happened to be a sorcerer?
She obviously didn't want to marry him, so when he found her gone, he placed the curse on her?

Hey ;D
Mel sort of mulling the idea over that while up in the far north, a family member or a loved one was sick. She made a deal with a evil sorcerer that she would trade her soul for her loved one to live but the sorcerer didn't save the love one and kept Cyane's soul. And thats all we got.

I got the feeling we have so many of them here already. It would be nice to have a different background. That is why I said slave, because Tal and Wind were just mistreated by step parents or something and ran away. I mean a real slave who was link one of Rumina's servants. After all, her owner had to be a sorcerer. To be honest, when hearing about cure, I immediately thought of The Curse of the Black Rose. So another option, she just could have been a thief who was given the curse as punishment. The curse was designed to slowly drain her energy and keep her in order. However, the deputy became corrupt and decided just to kill her. She escaped from prison and snuk on a ship to Basra in hope Caipra would be able to life the curse. How about, instead of a slave, she is a wealthy man's daughter who was sold to the highest bidder, who just happened to be a sorcerer? She obviously didn't want to marry him, so when he found her gone, he placed the curse on her? That basically means she would be sold into slavery. And the wife-running away sounds like Kal's story. I actually like that, but she wouldn't be a stowaway.

Aye, I agreed. But she cannot be a stowaway. Or did the sorcerer kidnap her, and she escaped from him?

*Scratches head* Well, I was figuring that this was a first idea that needs fleshing out anyways, so that was all I commented on.

Okay. Well, I guess if the sorcerer tricked Cyane into taking her soul and let her love die, I would think that he would either want something or just want her soul. If we go with him wanting something, it would be like "Now you're all mine. Mwhahahaha." And then Cyane can escape, and he would place the curse on her.

hey ;D I'm thinking that when the evil sorcerer got her soul she wants to hunt him down to get her soul back or she could-as sarah previously mentioned somewhere-that she could be going to Basra, hoping Caipra could help her?
