Dunno. Have never heard of it before either, but Sinbad and Bryn seem to know what it means. And guess it's a word for films that hold rather explicit scenes. *shrugs*

Hum, nha, Bryn wrote "well according to *me* Lemon is everything that has nudity.. This doesn't sound like she was talking about a film. Instead it sounds more like she was talking about a genre or rating.

Could be. But to me, it is like "Eyes Wide Shut" is everything that has nudity, meaning the whole movie is nudity.

Explicit sex stories in general, especially in anime fan fiction, are known as lemon, lemony-goodness, and lemonade, a term which comes from a Japanese slang term meaning "sexy" that itself derives from an early pornographic cartoon series called Cream Lemon.

The term lime denotes a story that has sexual themes but is not necessarily explicit. "Lemon" stories without much plot other than sex are also referred to as smutfics or as PWPs ("Porn Without Plot" or "Plot? What Plot?"). Similarly, many authors will call their stories "citrusy", or a mix of both limey and lemony."

@sarah: Hum, would not necessarily say so. I mean, take Rongar's fic. For the time being she rated it M, too, but it's all but that. The term Lemon I think does not simply refer to fics with explicit content in an otherweise well developed story, but to fics that hold ... nothing but that.

one day I read a fiction about an anime i like. most times i like to not show pictures in the website i enter to. *don't trust all websites *
The story developed and it was very well. but then the development of the story according to the author's note required the couple to do ...so so she rated it Lemon. *she put a small picture that refer to Lemon* I didn't notice it because of the pic-disabled option. so i read some line of it.but i realized it quickly and skipped this part.
from the few lines i read, it seemed to be really graphic may be NC-17
another girl wrote a fiction about M/S. then she warned the readers that the upcoming chapter is all about Lemon -she used this term-so no one who don't like it read it.
so you can see that Lemon can be a well plot story but contains a very graphic scene. the basic definition means the stand alone lemon fictions. but in most cases they use it to refer to this scene.
Mature refers mostly to adult themes containing violence language, sexuality. but not a stand a lone Lemon scene
