I read the thread, Doubar gave me, and there is where it was all settled down, you decided for Dermott's idea number two, who says that the spell Rumina's casted destroyed the Isle of Mists and Serendib escaped and went to Basra. It's just that if i remebr correctly Serendib was not created by Rumina, she was just kidnapped by her. Old Serendib wanted to make her the Maeve apprentice, it's still ok with me, if Maeve still wants that, of course

Old Serendib wanted to make her the Maeve apprentice, it's still ok with me, if Maeve still wants that, of course I think Rumina put a spell on the island. Rumina was going to destroy it anyway, but was stopped by Maeve and Serendib in the show. So say, over the year, Serendib's powers could not hold Rumina's spell, and the island was destroyed. She went to the closest port as a refuge, and that port was Basra. And hey, did you read my post before yours?

Sounds good to me Nightingale. And about the apprentice thing, I guess this is something that could develop during the game.

@sarah: Yes, i read it, and I was going to do that @sinbad: Ok, final decision then: The isle got destroyed when Rumina woke up, i couldn't prevent it with my magic, and so i took my stepparents and went to Basra, there i realize i want my magic to grow and become stronger, and so i left my step-parents and start looking for adventures, i went to the tavern and meet you there. It's ok like this?

Sounds good to me. But I would guess your parents found themselves a new home near Basra (not in Basra itself), because it were a little odd if they lived in Basra as well but you are sleeping over in a tavern. Just my thought.

Serendib: Sounds good to me. Just say you went looking for help, not adventures.

Serendib: Sounds good to me. Just say you went looking for help, not adventures. Help to develop my magic, maybe? I don't want to say i'm looking for help to restore the island, because then after we do that, i'mm done with roleplaying that's why i wrote adventure ;D @doubar: yeah your're right XD sorry

Hm, how about, you fled to Basra with your step parents, because it was the closest port? Rumina tried to stop you and sent a storm. Your step parents were killed in the storm, but you survived and made it to Basra.

Serendib: No problem. And yeah, the finding help in training your magic sounds quite good. But something you ought to know maybe: Caipra in the play told us that magic has been banished from Basra after the incident with the obelisk. But that again could explain why Serendib has been so secretive till now. She knows of the restrictions and thus fears someone will find out she holds magic. Just an idea. ^^

Serendib&Sarah: Uh, well Rumi's been missing for quite some time now and we have no idea just when she will come back (unfortunately ). Plus, I for one would think the story with her parents dying isn't necessary. Rumina has other interests now than taking revenge on Serendib. Her focus is on Sinbad and the Celt. I wouldn't see a reason why she should have wasted her energy on Serendib. Sorry, nightingale. *shrugs, smiles*

@sarah: That involves Rumina, we should ask her, i think *mumble mumble* Well, this happened outside of the play, and has nothing to do with Rumina's plans, so I don't think it would matter. Sorry, but we can't wait everything for Rumina. That would take ages. Sorry Rumina. Or we could say they hit a natural storm.

I think what has been said here already would be enough to be a reason for Serendib to be where she is now. Whether or not Rumina sent a storm doesn´t really matter. Or maybe Serendib got into a storm and we can leave open the reason for it. Rumina can still decide later then if she had her part in it or whether it was just a normal storm. And I like how the fact that magic is banished in Basra now matches OldSerendib´s secritiveness. That should work just nice.

Sounds good for me. I mean, why does everything has to involve magic? There are natural disasters.
