"Who am I? I'm just me. And anything you say?" the voice cryptically answered, then curiously inquired at Sarah's words.
The demons laughed, the demons growled, the demons shrieked. All those sounds were everything Sarah had to hear, and bear witness to their grotesque visage. The voice from thin air continued to laugh, and when the one giant ogre-zombie could not contain himself in repressing his hunger, he ran straight for Sarah, punching out the lesser-zombie which held her. Knocking down Sarah too, he proceeded to throw himself towards her.
"Oh geez, this isn't part of the program!" the mysterious voice heaved an exasperated sigh. With one thought, Scratch made the Ogre burst into flames. It emitted a horrifying scream as it was reduced to cinders before Sarah. The rest of the demons aboard the Bathory were met with the same treatment as they all burned to obscurity.
"Don't be scared, honey. If you want answers, get off this board, and come to the island where this vessel is parked at. I've got something you've been looking for for a long time, m'dear!" Scratch's voice spoke to Sarah in a tempting manner.
"Follow my voice, follow my voice into the woods~!" Scratch's voice now spoke in that mantra.

Sarah continued to breathe heavily as she listened to the blooming laughter. 'Stay calm. Just stay calm,' she repeatedly told herself. 'Oh, I am dead now. I was so stupid. Now I can never avenge my love.' She closed her eyes and a tear rolled down her face.
But then suddenly her eyes shot open when she heard someone charging at her. It was the big ogre. She was in such shock that she didn't even scream, but just stood there wide-eyed and mouth half open. Her heart was pounding harder in her chest. Then she witnessed the ogre knock out the guy next to her. She was startled by its actions. But since that guy had his hands around her, she fell down with him. "Ouch," she uttered as she hit the deck with a thud. She shook her head to get back to her senses and saw the ogre coming for her. However, she did not have time to panic, because the ogre and then the other monsters suddenly went up in flames.
"What the.........." Then she heard that booming voice again, urging her into the woods.
She got up and brushed the dust and ash of what remained of the burnt ogre. "Well," she looked around, "that was a nice morning call.
She then looked up and contemplated to herself. "But ............... what if I don't want to follow to follow the voice into the woods?" She grumbled. "That voice already caused me enough trouble." She looked up and shouted. "Okay, I will see what ya got. And it better be good." With that, she humphed off the deck and headed straight for the forest.

The forest was grim and foggy and if it weren't for Scratch's repeating voice, Sarah would have gotten lost in there, or worse, eaten by a Venus Flytrap. Normally the beasts in the forest would have attacked her, but under Scratch's power, they were all indifferent towards the human who was walking in their territories. The devil's voice continued to ring out until he sensed that Sarah would stop before a wide clearing. In the middle of the clearing, a stack of firewood was laid down.
"No need to start the fire, I'm the man for the job!" the voice rang out once more, and the flames suddenly burst out from the firewood. Scratch himself jumped out of the flames, and sat down with his legs crossed on a log nearby.
"Did my transportation frighten you? Good, because the rest of your journey will be quite fun!" Scratch spoke in a malicious giddy tone. "Sit down, dearie, you look quite scared. But on the other hand, you -do- smell good!" Scratch took a sniff of her scent and was quite pleased with the result.

As Sarah had walked through the forest, she had noticed the beasts around her and reminded herself to just stay calm. She had reached a fireplace with a pile of wood. 'This must be the campsite' she had thought. She looked around, but nobody was visible. She frowned, shrugged, and started to step to the firewood. But when it had burst into flames, she jumped back surprised and a figure jumped out of the fire. She listed to its words, raised an eyebrow, frowned, and squinted.
"So I'm being held prisoner by a demonic furrball. Great. Just my luck," she sarcastically spoke, trying not to show any fear. This was quite unexpected, but she refused to show any fear now. "And no, your transportation did not frighten me. And thank you, but I prefer to stand." She crossed her arms and squinted at the furrball's remark about her smell and rolled her eyes. "And so you're another one of those perverts. Okay, I can handle that," she smirked. "So what do you want?"

Licking his lips, Scratch continued to converse with the human woman. "My, you'd make a tasty morsel. I dunno when I ate the last human, was it one of Sir Kingsley's children? I don't remember. But I jest, I've got no plans to eat you, actually. Call me a pervert, but hey, I do have good taste in beautiful women when I see one." Scratch winked. "The only thing I want to do is look out for your best interests. You seem to have the blues and hatred towards a certain lass, right? I could help you get your revenge on dear sweet Bryn. She did some bad things to me, as well as her bunch of stupid little friends!" Scratch clenched his clawed hands hatefully.
"An enemy of Bryn is certainly a friend of mine, m'dear." Scratch grinned like a gentleman. "Oh yeah, in case ya didn't get the memo, I'm Scratch. Nice to meet ya, Sarah." he extended out his hand to Sarah for a handshake.

At the mention of "beautiful women," Sarah rolled her eyes. How many times she heard those words? Too many. She was about to interrupt the furrball but held back when she heard the word "Bryn." Her eyes grew wide as she listened to this horned, goat-like creature who seemed to go by the name Scratch. She chuckled at a thought but didn't show it. Yeah, she would love to scratch Scratch. She smirked but put that thought away as she focused on what he said about Bryn. The furrball extended his hand to her. Should she take it? He seemed to offer her help on her mission. But could she trust him? She bit her tongue and looked at Scratch's extended hand, glanced at his face, and glanced back at his hand. 'Why not?' she thought and finally shook Scratch's hand. "Nice to meet you, too."

"So come on then. Sit with me, talk with me, tell me all about your vendetta with Bryn. I know your tale won't be boring." Scratch reassured Sarah with a patient tone. In reality, the patient tone was merely a mask, which served as a facade for Scratch's inner restless desire to defeat Sinbad once and for all.

Sarah raised her eyebrow, looking at Scratch. She looked around and sat down across from Scratch. "Well, Bryn killed my fiance. I just want to avenge his death," she spoke in a monotone voice.

"Aw, sad little story." Scratch replied in a false sympathizing tone, and petted Sarah's shoulder. "You heartbroken girls are all the same, wanting to rely on revenge to punish the fiends who killed yer loved ones. I totally see where you're coming from. People say that revenge is a sin, but in reality, revenge is the right thing. Take it from me, I killed a bunch of hawks who ate my collection of meat without asking, and they got what was coming to them!" the devil mimed blasting an imaginary hawk in the air.
"Ya want to know something else? That Bryn is a bad girl. A very bad girl. She associates herself with the Nomad crew, who also goes around killing people, stealing stuff, y'know, the crazy pirate's life."

Sarah squinted at Scratch and shrugged off Scratch's hand from her shoulder. "Don't touch me, furrball," she snapped. "And about Bryn, well I am not surprised. She always was a loser." Sarah picked up a rock and threw it into the fire.

"If ya say so, missy." the devil complied to her vehement request for merely the sake of complying.
"Yes, she is indeed a loser, the lowest vermin of the low. You want to know where I come in, right? I would be very much happy to aid you in those impudent Nomad Crew, and of course Bryn's downfall." Scratch assured her, and then looked at her sword which was placed beside her.
"Can I have it for a moment? I wanna test something on your sharp tool."

Sarah looked at Scratch and frowned a little. He wanted her sword. But why? And well, she was glad to get all the help she could. She looked at her sword and picked it up. "My sword?" She paused before going on. "A.............sure. Here." She gave it to Scratch. "And in you think about hurting me with it, I assure you, don't." She then turned around again to play with the fire, throwing stones at it.
