he can not convince himself with the slave idea yet  . I am thinking about it, yes. But about being Bryn's boyfriend before she left, probably not a good idea. Bryn was only 8 when she was taken by DimDim. After all, I don't know of your idea of "boyfriend." What I am thinking: He was kidnapped and taken as a slave by Bryn. He followed Bryn's orders, being a good guard, and grew fond of her. They became like friends, although he was still Bryn's slave and had to follow her orders. When Bryn got missing, he was heartbroken and offered his service to Rumina, hoping Bryn would return. Since he had been a good and loyal slave, Rumina took him. When he heard Rumina found him, he was overjoyed but would not show it. Rumina wants to seek revenge on Sinbad and his crew, so he offered to help out and draw the crew into her trap. She agreed. |

Since the boy showed some talent in fighting/was strong or maybe impressed Turok in another way, he instead of killing him or whatever, took him as a slave and exercised(/got him exercised) him to be sort of a bodyguard for his children (or maybe even for the younger Bryn only). The guy would grow fond of his protégé and they fell in love. Knowing however that neither Rumina nor Turok would allow the two of them to be together (he is just a slave after all) the two of them have to keep it a secret. Then the story goes on as we planned: the attack, Bryn gets lost. Now, well I have to ask at that point: did the dark family think Bryn to be dead or did they leave her on purpose? In the first case, the guy could simply have went on living and serving but never truly forgetting about Bryn. Since he had been Bryn's bodyguard, he now was kinda of no use anymore and that's why he became a lower servant of Rumina (hence why we never saw him before). Then during the planning for the thing in Basra, he gets to know that Bryn is still alive and tries to get to her. But knowing Rumina won't free him of his service for her, he volunteers or talks her into being a spy (or maybe even she does decide on this on her own [after all she didn't know about the relationship], dunno). He would get to Basra and hire on the Nomad, not daring to shock Bryn with the revelation of who they were, he stays silent and plays the "double agent" for some time for he knows that Rumi will watch him in what he does. Then when she reached 8 and attacked maeve,s village and lost her memories ,so on, That little boy tried to search for the girl he cared for but his age limits hinder him from that. He grew up and his revenge and love quest grew with him. He could not forget about Bryn at all. But he figured that it will be better for him to be with rumina and turok side as that way he can achieve his revenge quest and at the same time if he heard something about Bryn he could go and get her back .turok was beheaded and rumina became in charge. He pretended that he is one of rumina, s loyal men. And she began to trust him but he can not get from the dark woman because she was very powerful and there is still Bryn who he is trying to find a track on her place. One day after the cooperation between plunkete and rumi. She sent him in a spy mission over the nomad crew. He can hide in one of the crew men and he then saw Bryn. He doubted about her identity at first as he could not remember the little child in a young woman shape. But then he heard some rumors about her. And the way they find her and her name. Then he will be sure that she is the one who was searching for. That is what I can get to now. Please understand it." so what do you think ? |

@kriss: actually mine and doubar are a lot look like each other. but have some points edited. as doubar saw that it will be odd if he was seeking revenge too from turok. but ....*turns to doubar* i think it is normal that such evil character have lots and lots of enemies...right?  |

Bryn was 8 when she attacked Maeve's village. Lets assume Bryn was about 6 when she took my character as slave. He became fond of Bryn, and they chatted a lot. I did not say he became her boyfriend, and yes, he developed innocent feelings for her. She became his weak spot and that is what I meant by "fond of her." Actually it is very similar to your and Doubar's draft with slight modifications. |

@mody: One thing about your version: I highly doubt an eight year old girl would get herself a slave. It would be more logical if Turok assigned the boy to her (as a gift maybe). alex: Hum, sure, a man like Turok would have many enemies. And it wasn't this one I was worrying about. But having another character seeking for revenge I find odd. I mean, there's Maeve seeking revenge from Rumina. Turok and Rumina seeking revenge from Sinbad. Sarah seeking revenge from Bryn. And now another one whose main goal it is to seek revenge? That was the part I was critizising. I mean, I never doubted that he might dispise the dark poeple who took him, but still I would think his focus should rather be breaking free from their service or at least should be Bryn, instead of the revenge thing. Oh, and just because you two adressed it: I would indeed think Bryn to have been older when they attacked Maeve's village. If Bryn was only eight back then, so was Maeve (or even only seven). And even though Maeve has always been a firebrand I would think, it would be odd to have an eight year old and an eleven year old fight. Let alone that I do doubt that Rumi as a eleven year old has already been mighty enough to put such a spell on Dermott. |

okay as the only differences between mine and tubby and yours is who made him slave. so why you can not accept it as Turok was the person who did that to him. at least it will be more logical as why she will take child like her as a slave? on the other side turok will take him to serve his daughters. and aside of whoever take him a slave do you accept the rest of it?
