The Teleri are one of the three Elven kins that saw Valinor before it vanished beyond reach. They were known to be the best ship makers of Arda (Middle Earth + Beleriand (that part was drowned)) and they lived in the twilight of the stars cause they thought the Trees of Valinor were too sparkly.
