Aw, mince alors. I wanted to watch that, too, some day but haven't got time for it now. Uh well, seems I gotta rent it then ... or wait till it's on screen again. ^^

Aw, yes A.I. is sad. And the worst thing, she will not be the same. I used "she," so I won't give spoiler.

Heh, thanx Sarah, but telling from what I remember of the trailer it's about a robot boy, isn't?

Yup, but a very sad ending.

Aw no. I don't like sad endings. Is it a bitter-sweet sad ending like in Forrest Gump or is it just ... sad and without any good point about it? Because then I'll rather not watch it. I hate films which keep me on my toes for more than a hour and then end in a disaster.

I think it very much depends on your point of view and your mood whether or not you interpret that movie ending as a sad one. there are several interpretations of the last scene, I alone know of three and am never sure which one is the right one and which one I am supposed to prefer.
So pleeeeease watch it, because it´s awesome, seriously. Sad, but awesome.

Someone dies, but that is in the middle. The ending could be thought of as bittersweet. But no one dies. The sad part is that you wonder how it is going to turn out. The ending is a little like LotR in that Frodo goes away and leaves Sap to find happiness. So there is a happy and a sad part.
Hope I didn't give away to much.

@sarah: Don't worry, you didn't. And well, bittersweet works for me. I simply cannot stand films that end in a total disaster and leave you standing there with the feeling that all is lost and over ... But bittersweet's okay. I mean, Forrest Gump has one of the most bittersweet endings I personally have ever seen and it's one of my fav movies.

[glow=red,2,300]Spoiler warning![/glow] His one true love Jenny dies from Aids (well technically you don't really die from Aids itself, but ... ah well, no need to get medical now ^^ ) and he's alone with his son. The end is bittersweet because on the one hand he has lost her, but on the other he has his son who he loves very much and who is a normal and smart boy ... and he knows Jenny is finally free as she always wanted to be. Plus he had had a great time with her and his son before she died. So yeah, it's horribly sad and makes me cry everytime I watch it, but at the same moment I know that both of them had all they had ever wished for and this makes it nice and sweet and everything. *loves that film*

Aye, thought she died. Thanks So the box of chocolates was for her? And yes, AIDS just reduces the immune system so you can't fight against disease. You die from the disease, not AIDS.

I was always wondering whether it was really AIDS she had or whether it was just some undeclared virus. AIDS seemed logical cause the movie is full of allusions to different decades and such and that would have been 80s where AIDS started to be a major issue if I remember correctly
