You know, why does the colors of the other skins have to be so straining to the eyes. I wanted to use Maeve's, Maeve and Dermott's, and Rumina's skin, but sheesh the colors are so...... not easy to see the text. So I ended up using the "Default" skin.

If you use a bright color for the background, can you make the text black?

Hum, yeah, some of the colours are quite straining. I found that only the dermott and the Maeve/Dermott one are okay. I use the latter with my Mala account and it's okay, but I have to admit I always am glad to return to my Doubar one caus' asides from the default one the Dermott one has the best combination of colours. But I can imagine it's quite difficult to make everything match. After all it's not like you had hundrets of colours to use, do you?

Really? Dermott.

And no, I am just saying that if like red, orange, yellow, or green background is used, the text should be black for readability. If the background is dark red, purple, or blue, the text should be white.

Well, I agree with the other ones but Dermott's skin just works fine with the white writing. It's well balanced and I personally even prefer it over the default one ( this and because of Dermott of course ). Plus the green is quite a dark one I think. If you used black writing with it then you'd have problems making the writing out. And well, the orange Maeve/Dermott one does have black writing already.

Well, generally if the background is a "darker" shade of the color (or if the color is already dark or cold), than white lettering goes well. If the background is a "lighter" shade of the color (or if the color is already light or warm), than black lettering goes well.

Warm colors:
- red
- orange
- yellow

Cold colors:
- green
- blue
- purple

Interesting info, Sarah. And well, this would match the me finding the green-backgroung-white-writing and the orange-background-black-writing combi to be okay.

You know, what I find annoying if some of the text are light on dark background, but other text is dark on dark background. In the default, the text are all white one dark blue background with the titles in bold. Can't you make all the skins that way? I mean, dark on dark is really hard to read.

And for the Maeve and Dermott one, black text is hard to read on a brownish background. Could you choose a lighter color?

Well, there are a number of skins available because different people experience the combination of different colours in different ways. Therefore, just pick one that is pleasant to your eyes.

Okay But I would really like to see Maeve's or Rumina's banner instead of the default one.

I will put it on my to do list so I can put up one extra skin these days which just sports another banner. Would you prefer Rumina or Maeve?
