Probably that's why they fell for him: they wanted something new. And back then, segregation was still big. It was highly unlikely that a white girl would fall for a black man at first sight.

I was more referring to the fact that Sinbad (and his crew, except Rongar) are a bit too white to be seen as people coming from the middle east. But about segregation: I agree, even though especially that part of the world had some rather progressive ideas about it at times (more progressive than 20th century for most its part in some areas)

You know, some Saudi Arabians are fairly white.

*agrees* They are fairly white, but if you have a look at the extras in the show, they look more like it.

Well, Rongar's native world was supposed to show the world of non-europeans such as arabs, persians, and the likes from africa.
Weird since Sinbad and Doubar are supposed to be arab/muslim

I can't find any info to show that Bollnah was real or not, but I always thought that Rongar was from middle Africa or southern Africian lands due to his dark skin...somewhere like in Nigeria-area.

I always wondered.... If Maeve had returned, would her defensiveness of her past/female assertivenesss calmed down under Dim-Dim's direct teachings or not? Most M/B stories had Maeve more calm due to Dim-Dim's teachings... Also, I was kind-of glad that Maeve never returned when I read that Ed wanted to make Maeve into this *itch of a Demon Huntress and leave the crew...and LEAVE DERMOTT behind!! ((Hopefully this doesn't open a big can of worms because it wasn't the intention...just wonderings....and perhaps wondering of how the RP Maeve and Bryn will interact....))

I would think that her drive to free Dermott wouldn't send her on that type of life style. She has to get stronger to defeat Rumina; not go chasing after demons. Besides, she wouldn't look good in a Xena outfit.

Well, the demon hunter thing was a weird idea and I agree with you that the mere image of it makes me shiver. And leaving Derm behind: well, out of all the things that could happen I think this is one that is most unlikely. After all her whole life circles around him. About the returning Maeve though: Yeah, many stories make her be more calm and stuff. But as you can see in Rumi's adventures it works just as well when she behaves like she always had. So either way will work and I'm really excited to get to know how things are going to develop here. The interaction between Bryn and Maeve will for sure be interesting ... although I hope they get along. A cat fight on board would be a sad thing. Plus: Maeve has no reason to mistrust Bryn (not right from the beginning that is ... *shifty eyes* and aslong as nobody tells her about that kiss...) as she's not after Sinbad anymore. ;P

In which case Sinbad would probably make a hopeless fool of himself with his clumsy attempts of trying to hide the reason why a catfight is senseless. Oh, and he would have to put both of them under arrest ... to keep the peace on the Nomad and stuff. ;D
