Neko!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want another cat. But I also miss my old cat. But anyway, thanks. We are going to have hamburgers and hot dogs with potato salad sometime this afternoon. My neighbors invited us for a cookout. And later we shoot up fireworks. When is Independence Day in Germany? Supposedly Canada Day was July 1st, missed it by three days.

So, I guess Canada Day is not that big. What celebrations do you celebrate?

@firouz: Well, we are celebrating the German reunion on 3rd of October. But honestly - I have never really had a party then. Just been enjoying a day off. ;D Btw.: hope you had fun at the cookout.

Yeah, cookout was great! I see. So October 3rd is kind of Germany's Independence Day. Do they, besides you, have celebrations on that day?

Happy Independence Day Firouz!! ;D
My family came to our house, and we shot off fireworks! The WHOLE neighborhood did too! For 3-4 hours the entire sky was lit up with all sorts of colors and sparks and loud bangs! LOL ;D ;D ;D
@doubar, yeah, what kinds of holdiays do you all have?

Glad you had a good Independence Day! We lit fireworks, too, but generally fountains. But our neighbor had a firework launcher, so we could enjoy a free fireworks show.

@firouz and Rongar: well asides from the reunion we celebrate several Christian holidays (Easter, Christmas + two regional ones) plus the first of May which leads back to several things. For one it is a heathenish thing I think (old stories tell that in this night all witches gathered at a special mountain here in Germany) and for the other it's about several labor movements - the oldest of them being in 17th century. On that day fires are being lit (with "witches" on top of them that are being burnt) and people gather to have cookouts. Really nice night it is. Things like your described for Indepence Day over here only happen on New Years Eve.

Interesting. I am surprised you celebrate burning of witches on stakes. And May 1st! You celebrate Maeve’s birthday. Hehe, I always imagined having Maeve and Rumina being burned on the stake. ;D

Is that RL Maeve or RPG maeve's b-day?
And burning witches...that's an interesting celebration. Why is it celebrated Doubar, Sinbad?
Is it like our Halloween, or at least the old All Hallow's Eve, celebrations?
