Seriously, I'm sorry that it took me so long, but finally, here is at least her characterization. I will try and write the bio, too, soon.

So far, I love this part

After Scratch had attacked the little family, however, and had sent the parents to rest in a watery grave, Mala found herself being caught in the depths of the ocean where her soul - still clinging to this world in which her sons lived in - could not escape from.

It's great. I have my own other explonation for it in my story "which I promised to Doubar" but loves yours too, it's so simply and beautiful

You said that her husband often was away for a days. Who he was?

As for the dad though... heh, I have no idea yet. ;D I haven't started to work on the bio yet but guess I'll leave it quite unanswered. Think I'll simply make him be a merchant and leave it to this. If once someone should sign up here and want to play the brothers' dad (and should we ever find a sensible plotline to add him to the play anyway) I can brainstorm on this together with the player then, but for now I think I won't elaborate on this too much.
Uh, and mainly I added it because I wrote the following in Doubar's bio:

Doubar has been born to a family of merchants who lived in a small town near Baghdad. His mother – the beautiful Lady Maea – and her husband lead a good life as they provided not only the area they lived in but also some stables of the bazaar of Baghdad with goods sailors brought from all over the world. While his father was often away for days the boy has mainly been raised by his kind-hearted mother who taught him what she found to be most important in life: trust, honesty and good.

In my version it's more like "purity" to play a role here but it goes similar way

I asked about dad just like that I don't think that there would be any reason to bring him to the story but we never know

Aw, yeah, purity is a good theme there, too. I like it and will love to read about it I'm sure. And well, in a way purity is a theme in my background for Mala, too (though I didn't mention it I have to admit but the overall description should imply it ). It's just not the reason for her status of existance.

And agree on the father with you. Right now there's no reason to elaborate on him anyway, but well, who knows what the future will hold? ;D

Guys, you're not gonna believe it, but I finally wrote Mala's bio!!! I'm not quite sure if it's any good, and well... about Mala's husband... I honestly had no idea what name to give him. I really like Kriss' idea but feel that it's kinda weird using the same name, but adding a different story to it. So for the sake of writing my bio I simply used "Salim". But, well, I'd want to point out that we can change that at any time. I mean, the man's never been an issue in the show and I didn't want to go all too much into detail on him therefor. So hope that how I solved it is alright with everyone.

Personally I do not see any obstacles to give him the name - Sakim, but of course it's your choice All in all I used the same name for Mala
Back to the bio, it's a wonderful story even if it is totally different from what I created.

Oh, and as for the city she grew up in: I don't know if it really was a point where goods were traded, but it does have a port (makes it very likely that they were) and it does exist:
