@firouz?? I guess teh question with buy again a horse is going to me?? *G* NO I'M not planning it, I can't no time and most of all no money. BUT I'M in love with a Krist daughter... friesian mare.. Krist is Jacs stallion by the way. I was in love with him the very first moment I saw a video of him... when I heared then Jacq, bough him I wa sfalling from the chair (what had actually another reason BUT it was funny that is happen in that second) IF there where a possible to buy her I like to.. BUT I can't same was some years ago when a mare of Jacs, old beloved Frans (rest in peace old men) was for sale and I found her on the pasture of a breeder where I was for a keuring.... Frans was actually one of the friesians who made me to a friesian lover... you see him in Robert Vavras books.. LONG before Jacq rode her first friesian on "the trickster" LOL so small the world are...Djuke... men was better say is she a pretty one.. and sooo cute.
BUT more smart will it be ... IF I have money and time not to buy another friesian better buy a spanih mare since my boy is going to be to teh warlander (www.jennydost.de there you can read on german an articel I wrote about that cross.. for no germans use a site translater ;-) ) breed.
where to keep?? I have not my own farm I'M boarding my boy at a PRE farm from a sweet lady LOL not often that sweet but as farmer grandchild I usedto that LOL

@firouz what kind of Horse do you want?? which breed? ridden?? or not ridden? carriage horse??
all dempend on what kind of horse di you want a mini shetty you can get for "just "200€
BUT a well trained friesian may can cost from 5000 to much more and then it also a question if you have "just" foalbook papers or the horse was shown on a keuring with 3 years or older and got good premies... star which is a good "certificate" for a friesian stallion, mare as gelding which means perfect movements and build. this can cost close to a little car..of course star mares which made good breeding mares.
My boy had cost 3.500€ when he was only 6 months old. BUT when you seethat the breeding fee to a stallion cost 1000€ and then breeder have also vet cost x extra in foal feed for mares + work + when the foal is on ground again vet cost, register teh foal at the registery, shows on keuring, foal food, ... 3,500€ is actually less what a breeder gets for his work and don't made much win out of it.
when I boug mIchel someone laugh at me... frieisan get less in price and you buy that heigh cost horse?? your crazy... one year alter she bough for 1200e a friesian colt by a hobby breeder who had save some money by not do MUCH on the foal or his mum... don't worm the foal, not prefct food... and at the end she spend much more vet cost as I done in the last 5 years... in this years my boy never saw for seriouse stuff a vet only once for a hoof absess. the first months of a foal is very important for the rest of their life about health and how he will be become in future nice horse or crazy horse which you can't touch??
I had bough by a private small breeder. his kids also had daily contact with teh foals, groomed them played with them... also same with their mums... he gave the very best care for mares and foals... and I see this everyday I work with my boy.
BUT this is not that BIG cost the horse price is the small one.. you have to things mostly on the monthly cost board rent, vet, ferrier training, tax (some arena in germany you see this yellow plate on horse neck, or saddle or where ever teh rider put it to, this is like a car child BUT you only need this when you go on trails) and much more...

@firouz Ok there are
boarding cost: 120-300€ (and more) OH and of course you need saddle, bridle, grooming stuff.... saddle is very heigh cost so let's see all in all ad 2000€ (the saddle is the heigh cost BUT you can looking for a used one so then itÄs not that much.. I right now just borrows me a saddle from a friend.... my boys favs. mares saddle LOL NO sorry shes now his second fav LOL) vet cost you have to injection you horse... sorry I right now have no idea how much I had payed by michel for this since my bills get lost by an move. BUT it can happen all the time something so better you save each month 10-50€ for vet cost. (when your smart, I'M not smart and don't do it.. since my boy never had need to see a vet for seriouse stuff just for injections and ONE hoof abscess....BUT I know other stories where horses see once the month a vet. then the ferrier / Black smith IF your horse have no shoes th ferrier comes all 6-8 weeks to cute the hoofes which cost from 15-30€ when your horse needs shows you can count 100€ 4 in the year your horse needs medicine against worms like cats and dogs which made 10€... BUT well I pay 10€, because barn owner is a natureal animal healer and she give it to us for the price she gets it for, so other can be cost more. and of course a horse insurance which can cost 10-50e in the year. maybe you do also a opreataion insurance or so but no idea how much tjsi cost. also when you can ride you should get riding lessons by a good trainer less once the month riding lessons the hour from 6-20€ is there all. I right now pay 15€ the day for my trainer BUT in that price is that she train my boy and when I get after this a lesson I dont have to pay my lesson. and also she comes only two times the week. in the behgin only once the week...
I'M sure I had forgot there something... so it's not a cheap hobby and I'M lucky to have such a nice barn owner who understand when I as freelancer can't pay direct on the 1 a month my rent LOL and that I do not need to now to pay a saddle lOL actually most of my stuff is borrowed or I get presented.
@doubar the warlander is a not well known breed here in Germany, so I wrote the articel and also in the usa the breed is still new.
