Hey guys. Since I didn't want to fill the "questions and concerns" thread with dicsussions about Mala, I decided to copy paste the latest posts and start a thread about her here. Think it's better that way.

*scans all the posts that have been made and tries to comment on them* Rumina and Firouz: Hm, I personally have troubles as well with imagining Maeve sitting there with a bottle of whine, but as Sinbad and you, dear, already pointed out: alc has been drunken since the dawn of civilastion and maybe even before that. If you do not overdo it, honey, I'm okay with it. And after all, what the sorceress does is only up to you. Oh, and love the idea of her thinking about the past. *winks* You know me. I'm the melancholic type. Rumina: Hm, to be honest, I don't see a good reason too. @sinbad: Yeah, well, might work, but just like Firouz I wouldn't vote fot that option. Mala does have powers (we saw that in "Hell House") but I wouldn't make her be that mighty to go everywhere she wants and cross any magical borders. Furthermore it would be unlogical for her to know where Maeve is. After all she doesn't know anything but the name. @cairpa: Yeah, would work. Especially since Caipra is a powerful sorceress and would most likely feel that Mala is a good ghost. Only problem there would be that first I'd have to have at least a vague idea of what is going to happen ... which would ruin the current fun in not knowing what Rumi has planned. *ponders* Although ... she could just pop in in the middle of the night, give Caipra a rather cryptic warning and dissapear again. ... @firouz: To be honest, I like such a situation best. And well, I got no problem with letting the two have a chat. After all Bryn and Firouz have been talking with one another as well. It'll make the thing be more like a own fic, but I wouldn't have asked to play Mala if I hadn't already decided on such chats being no problem. Well, yeah. And in fact that she is a ghost. ;D But, honestly, I wouldn't think Sinbad would get frightened. He knows that Mala is good and pure and he knows the world of magic ... to a certain extent that is. But, sure, Nili would have to decide on that. ------ in general: Well, tell me whether you want to have her in so soon or not. I personally don't feel rushed to bring her in. After all I have Doubar and thus would be fine as well if Mala joined the game at a later point of time. But if you wanna see her soon I'll be okay with it. I vote as having her come in later, unless you want her to come to Doubar or the other options I mentioned. I have no objections to either way! And like Rongar is curious about Mala, I'm curious to see how it develops! @doubar I'm curious about how you are going to develop Mala. She is one of my favourite characters too. But I'm not sure that she doesn't know nothing about Maeve. That would mean she didn't watch over her sons during the year the sorceress was on board. (She looked like she knew who Bryn was though, so I suppose it should be the same for Maeve). I had the impression that she pretended to not know Maeve in order to push Sinbad to talk about her, and let him release his inner sorrow. I can wait for the bio You are going to use Beth account for Mala? I dont think there's any rush to bring Mala in right now, we already have Caipra to give the crew any warning of impending danger. If Mala's also there, then there must be fairly good explanation; & being one of the dark side, *cough cough* i can say there isn't that much danger involving the basra scene that'd have mala concerned enough to pop in! ;D but it'd be interesting to see how her character develops, like rongar & derm said! @derm: well, to me it seemed she really didn't know about Maeve. How I see it, Mala's ghost had been set free the moment her sons (or rather Sinbad ;P ) had gotten into severe trouble. This trouble had begun the day Maeve disappeared and Sinbad took his turn to the dark side. I imagine her to have "awaken" then, watching her sons and thus getting to know Bryn as well. The day when Scratch caught him was the ultimate danger - Sinbad could have gotten lost to darkness. And this was the point where Mala's ghost left the depths it had been imprisoned in (-> the ship sank due to black magic) to come to her son's aid. At least that's how I see it. Oh, and well, about that: Well, to me it seemed she knew her son good enough to see that the one he was searching for meant a lot to him and just like every mother would, she asked him about that. Uh, well, yes. I hope I can live up to that. But, yeah, I like her too and will do my best to describer her well. Although I might point out that to me her central aspect is the mother she is. I will try to give her depth, but don't know to which extent I will be able to. Most likely, yes. *shrugs* @firouz: Well, as I said I'm in not in a rush either. Mala: Hehe, you have no idea how curious I am. ;P @talya: Well, exactly my point as well. So, if there isn't any objection I'd say we'll leaver her out and let her join the game some later point of time. After all, you're right - we don't even have a Scratch till now and I think Rumi wouldn't be a strong enough thread (sorry, Rumi, but after all Mala didn't show up in Season 1 at all ) to make her come back. Plus, Sinbad's turning to the good side now ... so no reason for the ghost to rise again. Yes, that we dont have a scratch till now, we can assume Rumi would not be that much of a threat for having Mala back again. *sighs* Does anyone know what the cousins (Rumi & Rhyad) are up to? It's been so long since we last heard of them.

It's good idea to mention Mala. She's interesting character.
I agree with Dermott. I think she knew about Maeve.

*scratches head* Hm, if you all think that Mala knew Maeve I'll accept it as given. But I rewatched it and neither her facial expressions nor her voice gave any evidence of her knowing our beloved sorceress. Of course the latter might be due to the German synchronisation, but ahh well... I'll wait for more opinions to be shared. For reasons I already shared I opt against having her visit the realm anyway which grants us some time to discuss about that properly.

Doubar, dear My opinion was just a potential scenary, but your version make sense to me. I think that the way you have imagined Mala's awakening at a certain point of the story perfectly fits with the plot you are planning for her. I'm absolutely okay if you make her not knowing Maeve. Don't worry

I don't think Mala knew Maeve. Why would she act like she did not know her? Well, in fact I do understand Derm. She saw it that way that Mala just wanted to make her son talk about what hurt him so much and with that ease some of the pressure that pushed him towards the dark side, right Dermott? But just like I said: I personally don't see any evidence for such a thing and would therefore go into the direction I intended (and many of you accepted as well ). Plus, I have some nice scenes between her, her sons and Maeve in particular in mind (not all at once, of course ). After all once she araises again and finds the one that has such a great effect on the sailor be near, she will for sure want to get to know her. ;D @derm: Thanx dear. It's important for me to have you agree on that. I do not want to destroy any image you have about Mala.

I don't think you are going to destroy anything. Mala has always been a mistery. So She can have whichever backround without making none of us feel deceived And besides you are so good in RPGing that I'm sure you'll make a great backstory out of her character. I'll read it as if I 'm going to watch the long waited season 3. It's weird how this rpg is bacoming more and more deep than other fanfictions.

It's all we've always wished for, don't ya agree. It's like watching the 3rd season, just like you said, 'course we never know what the others do. But whereas the real 3rd season might have disappointed us, this one is exactly what we want it to be! *raises a glass on the distant lands crew* ;D
