I know that this is quite an old topic, but I remembered how Rongar was able (as the only person) to end the illusion of Trickster, could it indicate that he could use magic as well? Sinbad, Rumina and Maeve did not manage to end their hallucinations themselves and they were able to use magic previously. Maybe because his sister is the good witch?

There is one more thing in this episode which is introduced here and represents the second season in not such a great way. The rest of the crew look so decorative in this episode. The focus is completely on Sinbad and little on Bryn (but not so much how I thought before), but what about the others? Firouz and Doubar are doing something off-screen the most of the episode and although Rongar is paired with Sinbad a longer time, he did not contribute on saving of Bryn or something else important and he is sent to off-screen as well by Sinbad.
It was not like this in the whole season but this was not the only episode where I had this feeling. And definitely it was something which I did not notice in the first season.

I read in the topic of The Sacrifice that the crew visited Phoenicia in the second season. Does anybody know in which episode it happened?

I am watching Sinbad once again in the present time (it simply never becomes old ) and when I added the list of minor crewmen, I got a new idea - to list all places which were seen/mentioned in this fictional world. I will work on it for a longer time, fill the pieces of information gradually. Anyone who wants can join to this small project of mine with any interesting information or any correction. I always had an impression that we did not get so many names of places in the second season, but I am slowly finding that the difference is not so big. The difference is in the fact that in the first season the crew had their aim - finding Dim Dym, defeating Rumina. It does not look that they have a different aim than trading in the second season (and being involved in an adventure). It is not clear sometimes if a mentioned name is the name of an island/a city/a village. If I did not find these mentioned places in the written form, there can be an occasional mistake in spelling. The first season: Return of Sinbad: Baghdad, Basra, The Isle of Tears (the lair of Rumina and Turok), The Isle of Dawn (the new home of Dim Dym), Basura (Sinbad mentioned this place as the place where he was looking for some old friends before his return to Baghdad) The Beast Within Still Life The Ronin Little Miss Magic King Firouz The Ties That Bind Double Trouble Conundrum The Prince Who Wasn't The Village Vanishes Masked Marauders The Ghoul's Tale The Rescue The Eyes of Kratos The Bully Monument Trickster The Siren's Song Isle of Bliss The Vengeance of Rumina The second season: The Sacrifice The Return of the Ronin Heart and Soul The Voyage to Hell Ali Rashid and the Thieves The Gift The Curse of the Gorgons The Beast of Basra The Monster The Passengers The Invaders The Book of Before A City Under Plague The Empress Castle Keep The Gryphon's Tale The Beast of the Dark Survival Run The Minotaur Stalkers The Guardians Hell House

Also, I love Maeve teasing Sinbad about his jealousy in Still Life. It's a great scene as well, Sinbad was not jealous at all, of course. Something similar was in Double Trouble as well, their ending scene was very amusing for me.

Sky Boat Song's singing scene is great, but it is funny that adventures of Sinbad should take place a long time before its creation. But who knows, as Firouz invented a lot of historical things before their actual invention, maybe Doubar and Maeve composed a song who will be created in the future as well? History simply doesn't know that the members of this amazing crew were behind the creation of gunpowder, a bike, a compass and this amazing song long before people who take credit for this.

In connection with recycled actors in both seasons, isn't the mother of Xander played by the same actress who played Hitria in The Empress?

Something else which occured me some time ago...
How it could be that Dermott was the only one on the board when Eurynome killed Maroof? Should not be someone at the tiller at least (if not for another duty)? He should see it or hear his scream at least.
In relation to Maroof, I was feeling sorry for him a little. He seemed to be different than Fontassel and Tallow, not a cold-blooded killer and I had suspicion that he was simply at the wrong place at the wrong time which makes him responsible for the situation for a part (and in his conversation with Sinbad he did not deny his share of guilt), but no necessarily a bad person.
We could say that he did not prevent Fontassel in killing Eurynome but it could happen so quickly that he could not do a thing against it. We have here the sailor who was killed by Tallow because of the map but maybe it was something which were known only Tallow and Fontassel.
His biggest sin probably was leaving of the rest of the crew during the storm which indicates cowardice. He could stay on the board with them (would the other officers care about it?) and try to do something or die with them.

We mentioned something similar in connection with Heart and Soul, but doesn't seem to be out of characters for the crew so simply accept Thano's decision to stay behind? Especially when there doesn't seem to be any reason for doing it in the first place...

I got a new idea for the revival of the discussion here, I will be glad when someone joins to this small exploration in the future.
Which scenes do you consider to be the funniest from the both seasons? You can choose any number you want
1. The crew watching the kiss of Sinbad with Maeve and their attempt to be inconspicuous in Village Vanishes 2. Mustapha and his exploration of opinions about his mother from his cellsmates in the Return of Sinbad 3. The Firouz's presentation a relaxing bath to Sinbad in the Isle of Bliss 4. Doubar's small accident on the Firouz's bike and the shock of our heroes in the Ghoul's Tale 5. Boys tease our dear Bryn in Survival Run 6. Rumina's speech towards Omar when she has the look of Sinbad 7. Firouz and his effort to save a very valuable vase in Voyage to Hell 8. Dermott who wasn't impressed by Firouz's Ruby-Beamer very much and the reaction of the rest of the crew

One question, when they decided sent Dermott to test the height of the wall, what could happen if he managed it, what do you think? Maybe he could bring the help from the board of Nomad and prevent them in crossing the barrier when the wall started. The episode could maybe develop differently, if Dermott overcame it.

Does anyone find strange a fact that the main villain did not sent his army of ants to go after people immediately after Bryn, Firouz and Sinbad left his castle (when he woke up from the unconsciousness)? Instead of it, he evidently did nothing which gave the crew and villagers enough time to prepare a trap for the ants (all these preparations and the work alone must take a longer period of time). Was he simply sitting in his castle the whole time and he was scratching his head only?

Something occured me in the relation with thie episode: when Doubar saw "Fortazza" he said "I thought that I killed you ten years ago." Does it mean that Doubar was never completely sure if he really killed the guy? Or he hesitated only because of magic of this place?

Oh, it looks so greatly and I am so sorry that I have such a break in reading of this amazing story. Unfortunately, with the present situation at school I have a lot of work and little energy for next activies on my notebook, even my own writing goes futher only very slowly. I hope that I will return to this story very soon. I read the chapter Dodgings arrows a three days and it was great, it reminded me a little her fight with Vikings. Maeve is so good in combat. What do you think, Maeve? If Maeve would really fight with Rumina in Trickster, who would win according your opinion? I would put my money on Maeve, if their fight would be without magic, only with their swords.
