@firouz: Nhaa, wouldn't think so. After all the show did not only fail due to the loss of Maeve but also because of the other changes that had been done. And I'm sure this wouldn't have changed - even if Bryn in reality had been Maeve or whatever. I mean, sure, we don't know if they would have developed their relationship further if Maeve had stayed, but the producers wanted more violence and sex in the show anyway. And would we really have wanted to see Sinbad mating up with those girls right infront of Maeve?

Well, if Bryn was Maeve, she would eventually sound more and more like Maeve, and that might have changed the mood of Season II. As for the producers, I think they are idiots. They are not writers so let the writers do the story. The producers just provide the funding so the writers can do what they want to do. Anyway, isn't the whole purpose to please the viewers? Without viewers, the producers won't make money and therefore will loose money. Why would a producer want to do that? The entertainment business is to entertain the people, not the producers. Seems like someone stuck his head in where he shouldn't have.
And about them wanting to make Sinbad more like Hercules and Xena, I say they don't know anything about Hercules and Xena. After loosing Ares (the comical bad guy) and Jockster (the cluts) Xena started to fall. And bad story line only made it worse. After loosing Ares and Iolus (the humorous sidekick) Hercules started to fall. Bad story lines also only made things worse. For Sinbad, Rumina was the comical bad guy. Maeve was kind-of like Jockster and Iolus. She provided a spark to the show.

Yeah, rice wine. It is good warm, although you can drink it cold. It is strong too. Have you tried some?

I agree with everything you guys said so far. A show can't be cancelled just for the loss of only one character, (even if so important). There "must" have been other reasons. The producers killed the series with their own hands. And Actually I think that everybody regret Maeve because we remember her from Season 1. But in my opinion, if she would have stayed, they would have changed her too. In outfits, appearence and behavior. Just like Sinbad. **Wonder what she could have looked like** If they had made up a rightiful reason for Maeve to leave, and portrayed it properly, I'm sure the fandom would have appreciated, and perhaps even forgotten about Maeve. In the tv-show "Charmed" happened the same thing. The main actress decided to leave. But even if the producers were forbidden to even show her pictures, they arranged such a storyline that it had been a pleasure to watch it. The sisters elaborated the loss, Prue was always present in their thoughs and speeches. They had to cope with their new roles, their new bonds, their new life. And Paige wasn't a substitute for Prue. She was the fourth sister. They took a whole season to work out all this, and only after that they come back to normal. Everytime I watch charmed 4th season I think,.....if only they had done the same for aos ...

@firouz agree about Rumina. Bryn had the ungrateful duty to be a substitute not only for Maeve, but also for Rumina. And the show was unbalanced beacuse of this.
Other that that the producers sistematically killed all the slight interesting characters stright after they introduced them. There were too few characters in season 2 in my opinion.
ah, And btw, I loved Ares too. I've always preferred him over Hercules ;D

I think Season II lacked a common bad guy.

True... Speaking of which... I haven´t watched all episodes of season II yet, but was Rumina in even one of them. And if not, why? Another actress leaving the show?

Rumina's (Julianne Morris's) agents asked a little too much from the producers and this caused all communication to break down. Thus, no. Rumina was never in Season II. Scratch was the only returning bad guy from Season I. But he was only in one episode in Season II.

@derm: Yeah. Although I liked Prue best I somehow appreciated how they worked this out and introduced Paige. @firouz: *shakes head* Have never had Sake so far. Oh: aye, missed Rumi, too... as well as all the other characters they had introduced in season one but never referred to them again.

@doubar: You should. It's delicious, but tastes very different from any other alcohol. Some people hate it. It is a little sweet and thick. I could give you some, but it is hard to give things over the internet, and it would be costly to ship it over to Germany. Do you have any Asian stores or Japanese restaurants in Germany? I am sure the restaurants have sake on their menu. It is a common beverage in Nihon.

@firouz: Aye, we do have such stores. And somewhere should be an Japanese restaurant, too.

Great!!! Just be very slow with the sake. Maybe take one or two shots that night. And you are not supposed to take but tiny sips at once. It is strong and will take time for you to feel the effects.
