My favorite S2 episode so far. The part where his sister reveals about Rongar's exile is very sad. I really liked to learn about Rongar's past, even though I knew part of the spoilers from reading the fandom. And when he reunites with his sister Come on Sinbad, you trust people way too much. It was so obvious that Rongar had something in mind Oh, did anyone notice what Sinbad said at almost 12:00 ? Still thinking about Maeve, there. Is the lady in green the same actress who played Cassandra in the Village Vanishes ? By the way, I really found funny when she proposed herself to Sinbad. Good to know he still can restrain himself *chuckles* But he pretty much declines every invitation she gives him (until the end). When she litterally throws herself at him, I almost died laughing. He was soooo uninterested. Poor girl. But then, she's some harem girl or daughter of joy so ... why not benefit from her company after all Still, it makes me wonder about Bryn. It would have been unthinkable that Sinbad would ever do that with Maeve on board. He clearly isn't thinking about either one at that moment. This is the episode where I see the first changes in him. Maybe the following episodes will show me how ''brutal'' he has become when fighting and how of a womanizer he is. The first 5 episodes were not that bad in either of those matters, but by the end (Hell House) he had almost tripped into the darkness. When they kill Ali Rashid : How convenient all the castles have huge windows and balconies by a cliff ! (the same as in Still Life and King Firouz).

And when he reunites with his sister One of my fav S2 eps as well (the other two would be "City under Plague" and "Hell House"). It's awesome to finally get to know about Rongar's past and the reunion with his sister was nothing but awesome. Soooo touching! Lol, true, that was so obvious. ;D I didn't really notice until Maeve pointed it out to us in the "Seeing Pool"-project. But it's remarkable indeed. Funny enough back when I watched S2 for the very first time I felt like there had been absolutely no reference back to S1, but now I have to realize there were quite a few scattered throughout S2. Yep, the very same. Actually it's rather funny how many actors appear more than one time during the series. xD Lol, yeah, isn't it? ;D Oh, and the city should be called "Bollnah".

I've just watched that episode again! It's a very good one. Good to know about Rongar's past. And it's so nice to see that Sinbad and the crew are caring a lot about Rongar!! I've just crinched a little bit, when i saw Sinbad and the girl in the boat at the end of the episode... I don't like that from Sinbad lol

It is one of my favourite episodes, we found out something about our Rongar and we met his sister, the very interesting character, I love the scene when she connected her power with Bryn.
There were some contradictions to the facts which we heard about Rongar's past in the first episode. If i remember it correctly, Mustapha said in the first episode, that his tongue was cut out because he did not want to betray his brothers. But it does not mind.
I am wrong or this was the only episode, where the central plot was given to Rongar?
And I must agree that I do not like the final scene of Sinbad with Shirez on the board. I am not sure what Bryn was thinking in this scene, but if she was jealous there she was able to hide it. I bet that Maeve would not have been so calm in her position.
And I knew that i saw the actress who played Shirez in an episode before, and it was Cassandra.

This is a great ep indeed! Love it, too. You're right, manche, this is the only ep that focuses on Rongar mainly. Which is a real pity because he's such a mysterious character in a way. But this ep shed some light on his past and I for one highly appreciated that. That's true. But then again you would have to wonder whether Rongar told Mustapha the truth, or respectively whether Mustapha told the truth. It might have just been sort of a cover story since "that guy is actually a Prince but he was overthrown and punished" doesn't go all too well with hoping to be hired as sailors. xD At any rate, I agree with you both on Shirez: While I liked her as Cassandra in S1 I wasn't all too fond of her in this ep (never mind that I never noticed it's the same actress - I only found out when it was mentioned here on DL xP ). Although Sinbad's behaviour at the end wasn't unrealistic, it sure was odd for him to say the least. And to be this obvious about her right in front of Bryn... that was just... eurgh! True that though, Maeve for sure would have given him the Evil Eye for that. >.>

In the connection with Mustapha, do you think that is a good idea to create the intro for him? I was thinking about it, that I would create something after my exams, he was only in two episodes, but I like his character, we do not have much information about his life but i could devised more information for his bio.
I did not also like much the new character of "Cassandra" and the ending scene was the first example of Sinbad's new atttitude to women. (The first hint of this was in Heart and Soul, but it was a little different situation.) I did not like it.
I agree with you, that Mustapha did not probably know the truth about Rongar or he tried to cover him, hard to say. It was not said under which circumstences Mustapha and Rongar have met for the first time, if I remember it correctly.
Sinbad : ''I've been known to go (raises eyebrow and glances at Doubar)... overboard for my crew''. Is it sure, that this should be the reference to Maeve? It would be fine.

Uhm, technically intros are only made for the characters that are being played in the rpg. And unless we bring Mustapha back from the dead and have someone to take him over it would be kind of confusing to add him there. On the other hand it would be quite fascinating to see what you have in mind for him. I tell you what - you should ask our captain about it. Or I can do so for you if you prefer. Maybe we can create a "closed" intro for him, seeing he's not being played but is a part of the game's history after all (since we work with what was given in the show). But yeah, Sinbad's new attitude showed pretty clearly in that ep, and I, too, did not like it at all. Oh, and indeed it was never told under which circumstances Rongar and Mustapha met. I guess the story was just not considered as important to the plot, hence why it never was mentioned in the show. *shrug* I don't think we can be certain. It might also refer to adventures/stories not told in the show, but seeing he did jump overboard to safe Maeve I guess it's pretty safe to assume he did refer to her.

Ok, it was only the idea, it is not necessary. I like his character a lot and this actor is also very sympathetic me. (For example he played an interesting enemy in one episode of The X Files.)

Maybe it only too two minutes and Bryn didn't mind not being in Shirez's position at all. I can't believe that men who disregard the feelings of the random women they hook up with so obviously make very good lovers. Too self-centered.

But this ep shed some light on his past and I for one highly appreciated that. Firouz also had only one or two episodes which were primarely focused on him, if I am not wrong. But in the first season in the most of the episodes the whole crew has roughly the same space, in the second season sometimes some members of the crew did not get so much room in some episodes. For example The return of Ronin, Heart and Soul, The gift, The castle keep.

hey guys! Actually, there was some speculation about just WHO Mustapha was after that first episode. It was thought that he and Rongar might have been a prince and a trusted bodyguard; kind of gratifying to find out we were right! LOL

Mustapha as the Rongar's bodyguard. The interesting thought.

That's a pretty interesting idea indeed. Although it would surprise me that a Prince like Rongar had such an impatient and quite rude bodyguard. Or that, in case Mustapha had been the royal one, a Prince would be so bad tempered, lol. manche: Well yeah, and he is an interesting char indeed. Hey, btw, have you read the alternate S2 where Maeve accidently called Mustapha back from the dead? It's a quite good one. And as for the crew having had roughly the same screen time in S1... now that's quite true although you would still have to note that most of the screen time was used for Sinbad (which is okay, he's the hero after all ). As far as I remember Firouz and Doubar each had one ep that focused on them in each of the seasons (for Firouz that would have been "King Firouz" and "City under Plague", and for Doubar it were "Isle of Bliss" and "Beast of Basra"). Only Rongs got only this one ep where he was in the centre of things. MJ: Eeep, now that's quite true. >.> I wouldn't be all too interested in S2 Sinbad either. Too much of a Captain Casanova for my taste. <.<
