The light that shone through the gaps of the curtain woke Thea up. She silently cursed the light that emitted itself into her room as well as the fact is was day. She would relish in the pleasure of more sleep, but alas, it was day and work must be done. She let out a loud yawn and stretched her muscles. She sat up. She wondered if Ashven had gotten up early and had left, because she hope she wouldn't have to see him again.
She clumsily jumped out of bed and landed on the creaky floor. She stretched again and made her way to the door. The door let out a loud squeak. She made her way out to the hallway and hoped for a good day.

Ash was just closing the door to the room he spent the night in as Thea entered the hallway. He smiled and bowed his head. He tried to keep the right side of his neck out of her view. It would take time to heal the gashes and he hadn't had such time as of yet.
"Ah. Good morning Ma'am. Looks to be a very nice day after the windstorm last night wouldn't you say? I trust you had a nice quiet night."

Thea stopped dead in her tracks at the appearance of Ashven. She groaned internally. Oh, just be civil, Thea, she commanded herself. He'll be gone soon.
"Good morning, Ash," she said, though her tone was a little starchy. "That wind was a horror but it didn't bother me much during my sleep. It was actually quite peaceful. What about you? Did you have a nice night?"

He nodded with a smile.
"As good a night as I could expect. Sleeping is not something I'm accustomed to really."

She nodded. She was hearing what he was saying but her mind was still a little cloudy from last night's drink. She combed her hair with her fingers, taming the frizz her hair had become during the night. "How was your bed? The comfit of the beds vary from room to room."

Ash gave a nod.
"Comfortable enough. Admittedly I haven't made much use of beds before so I am not the best of judges but it suited my needs thank you."
His politeness seemed far too natural considering this WAS Ashven after all.

Thea smiled politely. "That's good to hear," she said. Ashven was being polite, and hadn't made any snarky remarks. Must just be one of those days when everything goes well. This lifted her spirits marginally. "What of Khei? Have you heard her walking around that might alert you to her being awake?"

Ashven shook his head, smoothing down his vest as he did so.
"Can't say I have. Probably still asleep. She had mentioned last night that her head hurt. Must have needed some extra rest."

Thea nodded slowly. Khei never mentioned that... She felt a pang of suspicion. She tucked it aside. Maybe there was nothing to be worried about. "Maybe" being the operative word. With Ashven you never know...
She crossed her arms. Then something on his neck caught her eye. "Ashven!" she yelped. "You're hurt!"

He internally cursed himself for not staying in his room long enough to heal the gashes. Outwardly he merely shook his head and gave a dismissive wave of his hand.
"Oh this? It's nothing. I haven't had the chance to heal it just yet is all."

She used her hands and forced his neck to tilt so she could get a better look. "It's seems fresh," she said. She released her hold and gave him a worried stare. How could he get injured like that here?
Then it dawned on her. Her stomach felt horrifically empty and terror seized her throat, leaving her speechless. Khei. She snapped out of her paralysis at thinking of Khei.
She found herself hoping that Ashven wound hurt like hell. She ran to Khei's room. "Khei!" she yelled.

Ashven started to give an excuse but stopped, his face wrinkling up in annoyance as Thea ran down the hall.
Damn these mortals.. they're quick to suspicion.
He followed her at a walk, keeping a fair distance. He still wanted to see and hear the show.

A whisper of a groan emitted from inside the room. Upon entering, the room showed no sign of any sort of struggle.. Except for the bed.
The bed, though still in the same place, the mattress appeared to be shredded in places and the sheets, spotted with a substantial amount of drying blood, had also been shredded nearly to pieces. Despite the poor condition of the bedding, they still served to cover the still form underneath the bloodstained sheets.

She entered Khei's room, looking for any immediate sight of her. She approached the bed warily. "Khei...are you alright?" she asked. She saw...blood on the sheets. Dried blood, which suggested something happened to Khei. Something not good. There was no movement coming from the lump underneath the sheets. Tears rimmed her eyes but none trickled down her cheeks. She grabbed the edge of the bloody sheet, raised it and cleared it off the bed.
Thea's eyes widened at the large feline that lay on the bed. She stumbled backwards and fell to the floor, shocked. A short, piercing scream escaped her lips. She clamped her hands over her mouth as she realised deep in the recesses of her mind did she realise who this was.

Large ears flicked and flattened as the beastly form curled up on the bed suddenly startled at the sound of the scream. Claws dug into the mattress, causing the bed to topple over with a bang, the mattress landing against the beast, obscuring all of it from view save for a striped, lion like tail.
For a long moment there was silence followed by quiet sobbing and gasps of air.
