Kriss hadn't heard when Caipra come and she was little shocked to hear her voice.
"Oh, You scared me. I didn't hear you..."
She took the deep breath and smiled to Caipra.
"I wasn't really busy today. There wasn't a lot of guests here. So, maybe we eat somthing now? I'm sure you are hungry"

"I'm sorry, I didn't want to scare you!" Caipra apologized.
"Of course I'm hungry. And I'm always happy to come here to eat something. You're a good cook!
Oh leave that! I am going to put the table!" added Caipra seing Kriss taking plates.
"So how did you spend your day?"

Kriss chuckled " I don't cook, I can't. I emploied the cook" She smiled to Caipra who was really surprised. "Ok, prepare the table and plaese take Aniel. I'm going to the kitchen.I will right back with our dinner"

"Okay! So tell your cook that I love what he is doing!" Caipra answered after realizing her mistake.
They both laughed.
Then Kriss went to the kitchen.
She went up to Aniel and took him in her arms. "You're growing so fast! We will soon not be able to carry you anymore! you are going to become a nice and strong young man as your dad!"
Of course, Caipra ignored everything about Aniel's father but she didn't imagine Kriss with an old and poor man...
"Do you want to be like your dad?"
But the child didn't answered. He was almost 3 years old and he still didn't speak. His magic grew very quickly in him. He even was precocious for his age...he only lacked word.
"You know what? Maybe your mom can't cook but she is a good mother! So promise me to always look after her, agreed?"
Caipra watched Aniel, thoughtful...

Kriss backed form kitchen with roast meat. Put it on a table and started to share.
"I hope that Aniel will eat this time"
She gave her son a smile, then looked back at Caipra.
"So, you was busy today? You said something about plants, cures? Do you know Mnishek? It's really popular herb in my home lands."

Caipa put down Aniel and went to sit in front of Kriss.
" Really! I heard about this plant but it is very rare in this region. Too bad, because it would be very useful! I went to Omar's palace today. One of his 2 attendants was sick. He had a good fever. I gave him a herbal tea based on flower of orange tree. This brings down the temperature. he must surely feel better now."

"I guess it's too hot region for Mnishek.Oh, Omar's attendants are really funny. They come here sometimes. I hope, he will get better soon."
Kriss smiled and started to feed Aniel.Then Looked at Caipra.
"Maybe, you should, start to think about your own garden with plants for cures?"

"My own garden? hum...why not? Seeing that all my plants come from so many different countries, it would be good to have them in the same place!"
what Kriss didn't know was that Caipra only used plants when it was really necessary. Her magic was enough to make cures. Besides some plants was useless without a little of magic, as this flower of orange tree which she gave to the Omar's attendant.
"But I already have well filled days." Caipra said. A garden asks a lot of time to maintain it. And I don't think I'm good for that!"

Kriss gave her son another bite of roast meat.
"I don't know anything about garden, I've never had one. I just thought that maybe you need it. I knew one woman which was making cures for prople just like you.She had her own garden.She was strange... people said that she was charlatan. You know, she knew futuer and so on. Really strange woman.I never belived in what she said"
She hadn't wanted to belive that woman.
Gave her son mug of fruit juice and started to eat.

*she knew future!* Caipra thought. If Kriss had the slightest idea of what Caipre really was, this woman would not seem so strange to her!
She started to eat too.
"hummm...this roast meat is absolutely fabulous! I don't know why I haven't met your cook yet! It's not the first I come here!"
Caipra smiled and then looked at Aniel.
"So, does he finaly decide to eat?" She asked.

Archer was watching like her son dirkns.She was very glad that her little man finaly ate something.
"I think, you haven't met my cook becouse he is always in kitchen"
She smiled to Caipra.Then again looked at Aniel and gave him slice of tomato.

Caipra dared to ask her a question " I find strange that in his age, Aniel still doesn't have said a word. You do not seem to worried about it. Don't you find this strange?"

Kriss stoped to breathe for a moment when she heard Caipra's question. Her heart was pounding fast. She had known that Caipra will ask about it someday but she was startled. Archer took some deep breaths and strarted to explain
"He had an accident....Someone cut his vocal cards..."
She cound't say anything else...she didn't know what to say...

Caipra was about to eat a piece of meat when she suddenly stopped and looked at Kriss...really surprised. She didn't expected that.
"Oh my god...I...what happened? I mean...Okay Kriss, I don't know anything about your past and I know that you don't want to talk about it and I respect that but...You should have told me about Aniel! you can't keep everything for you! You know you can talk to me! Trust me, I'm your friend!"
Caipra stopped and took a breath. She was still looking at Kriss who didn't react while Caipra was speaking. Now it belonged to her to decide if she wanted to talk to Caipra or not and Caipra knew that.
There was a long silence...

Kriss took some deep breaths and decided to explain Caipra everything. She really trusted her, she was her only friend in Basra.
"Ok, I will tell. I know I can trust you. You are so good for me and Aniel, so you should know"
Archer took another deep breath
"As you already know that, we come from North. Someday I joined one north pirat named Shaigan. He was north pirat but he wasn't viking. Shaigan became more powerful that Vikings, so they hated him. I was his lover and his son's mother. One day Vikings attacked us and killed Shaigan. They took me and Aniel as the slaves, they cut his vocal cards. I ran away and arrived here..."
Kriss finished and looked at Caipra. She was glad that she finaly told her that.
